Are Old Parts for a Mac Pro Still Saleable?

I'm looking to sell internal parts of a Mac Pro G5 and 1,1, hoping to get a few money off it for a PC I'm going to build out of the cheese grater case.

Is there a proper audience in AU where I could sell it? Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace will probably my last resort but I'd like to see if there's a Facebook Group who might appreciate them more.

  • Both are too old now to get any decent money for, and too new to be considered collectable, so wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

I picked up a decently spec'd Mac Pro 3,1 (dual-cpu, 32GB RAM, Quadro GPU, Wireless, capture card) from GT for $100 a couple of weeks ago.

    • 32gb for $100!? Geezuz

  • +1

Maybe hold onto it for 20 years, and it will be a collectible?

  • In time it will be considered vintage. That's when it will have some value.

  • I sold an old motherboard complete with an Intel Core Duo CPU and 2GB of RAM for $20 on Gumtree not too long ago. If you're patient there are buyers out there, but don't expect to make a ton.

  • thanks for the responses. I've decided to keep the parts intact for now
