TaoTronics No Longer on Amazon AU?

Hi all,

Was just looking to get some Taotronics products (I've been impressed by their value from previous purchases) on Amazon AU only to realise that their shop/products are no longer there! Does anyone have any idea what happened to them?

Searching through the latest Taotronics deal on Ozbargain shows that they were still on Amazon AU at the start of the month…

Maybe they got caught with their paid reviews thingy

Facebook has those groups where Taotronics agents offer free products for reviews

Ahh… I see. Shame, as I thought their products were decent for the price.

        And had favourable reviews.

    • I've bought quite a few Taotronics lights but never got gift cards, sad

Taotronics, RavPower and Vava were banned last week due to review manipulation.

    • I'm a bit 🤔 about this knife's reviews:

      https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08Y96JCRC

It is an alright knife but it doesn't strike me as wall-to-wall 5-star material or even substantially better than the Ikea knife it replaced (but I have to admit it is a little heavier). Not even Casablanca gets universal 5-stars.

I'm shocked! Shocked to find that reviews are being manipulated in this establishment.

If you own it and bought it from Amazon, add your own review to even it out?

        but it doesn't strike me as wall-to-wall 5-star material…

Hmm, what about if I (hypothetically) offered you the knife for FREE and an extra discount coupon on top for next order… Change your mind maybe? That's where a lot of these 5 stars & gushing reviews come from unfortunately.

  • They paid me a $30 gift card and sent me new headphones when I left an average review. I left several great Taotronics reviews but one average review for a product I thought was average. I thought it was actually pretty exceptional customer service - I think I used the voucher to buy more of their products as then they’d completely won me over. They asked me to remove the review which I would have done anyway given the service/follow up.. Raises an interesting question though - if a company is willing to bend over backwards to keep vocal complaining customers happy, are they really that bad?

Well, you bought a product which turned out to be average, yet by you removing your review some unsuspecting buyer would buy them, not knowing how average the product is.

Personally I find it annoying that you removed your review just because they gave you store credit. The service might have been good, but the product remained shit…

So you leave reviews for every item you buy? I could take the same high and mighty approach that everyone failing to leave a review for everything they buy is somehow exposing me to risk.

The company comes to me and says hey if you consider removing your review we’ll replace your item with another model and give you $30, and you suggest I take the high moral road? You must have a stronger character than I do.

When the shoe is on the other foot and I get a negative feedback on eBay, I always offer the client a replacement and ask them to remove their neg, I must be going to hell and not passing go on the way down.

    • Thanks!

    • Called it when xev had that review crap at the bottom of every deal. Why haven't you banned him?

      • It's between Amazon and SunValley. If he asked people to write positive reviews on OzBargain then it would be a different situation.

  • Actually found the TaoTronics bluetooth $50 headphones to be excellent value. I just lost one bud and the charging pack and in need of a replacement. Shame they aren't on amazon!

  • Just came across this today. Returning one of the blue tooth wireless earphones as one side is dead only after 6 weeks.

Personally though has 6-8 sets of various blue tooth headphones and they all worked well and reliably Shame.

  • Had 2 sets replaced without returning the faulty product and the other Bluetooth headset replacement has lasted me over 3 years with daily use.

    • Yeah, they are workhorses and just do what they are bought to do. They're nothing fancy nor top end; but they're reliable. The toyotas of wireless earphones.

  • For those who are still after Sunvalley Products (ie. TaoTronics, VAVA, Ravpower, etc), they are now being sold under HERILIOS & FAKEME on Amazon AU.
