What's stopping me from cutting my own hair with these?

Edit: I bought them and I don't even have a long haired dog..

Ozb rule: Buy now, ask questions later.
Seems to be $149 at most stores, though I'm unsure of Remington quality but Furminator make quality pet products (USA brand) so it should be high quality.

I have used the same fairly cheap Remington clippers to shave my head for the past maybe 5 years and have never had a single issue with them. I oiled them after every use so that probably contributes to their reliablility, but I have also just ran out of the oil that came with it and can't seem to find a cheap clipper oil anywhere so maybe that reliability is about to be tested.

        • But you are mad dog xxx

      I purchased them and I don't even have a dog :)

What's stopping OP from using it? Or gifting it? Or selling it? Or getting a pet?

      • +1

If someone “needs” one of these they shouldn’t be waiting around on OzB for a deal.

    • Your dignity

  • Got one too. Might be a price error so wait and see if its meant to be $95.10.

Got one first and thought about it after. I do have a dog but never used clippers on him. Now we have a backup plan in case we are in lockdown again and groomers are shut. Hope they honour this. Thanks OP

Can anyone recommend a good dog that would go with this? PS: I’m naming the dog “The Shermanator”.

Surely your dog hasn't been holding back on getting groomed waiting for this $9 deal?

I wouldn't feel too bad about missing out. This model looks like the ones you can get on ebay for like $20. Can't easily replace clippers as they are not designed to be detachable and they will dull quickly if you have a very hairy or larger dog. RRP on this is highly overinflated.

Reviews online vary a lot too, some are really bad. Honestly, looks like a contender for landfill in a few months time.

Had one like this before and guy who sharpens blades said not even worth getting them done and only did the Wahl and Oster ones. Not saying blades have to be name brand, but detachable ones are the way to go for a long term investment.

Just a side note, I've asked before what the difference between human and dog clippers are. Apprently, the higher price is because the motors in pet ones are designed to not heat up so quickly as they are typically used for longer periods of time.

  • Dammit missed out.

Missed the initial deal, but there's still some great pricing on deshedding clippers and other gear in the included link. Grabbed a long hair deshedder and some litter for more than 50% off.

www.amazon.com.au/Furminator-102002AU-Small-Long-Shedding/dp… is the link for long hair, small cats, but there's plenty of other options for small and large cats and logs of short or long hair. Thanks OP!

      That makes me super happy…

  • Just got my order today and wow. It’s a pretty impressive piece of equipment for less than $10 delivered. Can’t believe they honoured this deal.

Now to learn how to use this on my dog without making him look like a freak show.
