  • Launder?

    • I think he meant launched

    • Corrected :)

  • Probably all those people that bought London Bus can get it cheaper at $99 USD . I want it at that in AUD :)

  • thanks… bought one as well.

  • Nice model. Looks good on the shelf beside the 10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 and the 10265 Ford Mustang.

    • Anything looks good next to that Aston Martin abomination lol

  • Got one, thanks

  • I have never bought from these people but I wouldn't order anything anywhere near that value without tracking, especially from overseas. On this offer it is an extra $6.

    • the us$2 option includes tracking

      • You ordered it and received a proper tracking number that you can use to track online? because I just checked it again and it clearly says the $2 option is 'standard delivery' and the $6 option is 'tracked delivery'. Some of the comments below from others said that they ordered lego sets that arrived 2 months late, I have never had a tracked delivery take that long.

  • F#©k zavvi, pack of thieves.

  • I ordered my Liebherr through them and it arrived in good condition. Been waiting for this one, so got it. Thanks OP.

  • Purchased from Zavvi in the past and had zero problems. Items arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

  • I have ordered a heap of Legos from them. Most like Bugatti and Sian came in perfect condition (largely because of very good OEM packaging). The R9800 arrived 2 months late (initially thought lost) in a horrendously crushed state.

    • I think I also ordered the same sets from … and exactly same experience with R9800 but it arrived in month time

  • +1

Inb4 the classic anti-Zavvi hysteria… oh wait, too late.

I ordered a Sian from them a few weeks back. No issues. The box was in absolutely mint condition and extremely well-packaged.

  • Are these guys the same company as IWOOT?

    • Yes, Zavvi and IWOOT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of The Hut Group, a UK-based e-commerce company.

  • Mine has been shipped yesterday !! Hope to get in good condition

  • 1 . Which courier is used by Zavvi for shipping ?
2 . Do the boxes arrive in pristine condition ? ( I love hoarding clean boxes)

    • +1

Usually most orders will have two couriers, one for the international transit to Australia and one for for the domestic transit within Australia (which is usually Australia Post).

My last order was shipped via DHL to Australia, then by carried Australia Post after clearing customs.

Every order I've had with Zavvi/IWOOT has gone swimmingly well and the boxes arrived in better condition than most of the Lego sets on the shelves of Myer, DJs, Target, etc.

For some retarded reason they have a mythological reputation on OzBargain for allegedly damaging every single order (mainly I suspect from first-time buyers who aren't familiar with the risks involved when ordering bulky items from overseas) when people don't realise that you're just as likely to end up with damaged orders from Myer, DJs or Target (of which I've had far more damaged orders from local Australian stores than Zavvi/IWOOT).

Also, since all of their shipments to Australia are carried by a least two couriers, it's very hard to tell where the blame actually lies in cases of damaged orders and it could very easily fall on Australia Post's shoulders or the international courier's and have absolutely nothing to do with what condition the box was in when it left Zavvi/IWOOT's warehouses.

      • Thanks for your quite detailed response.

Do the boxes come shipped in another corrugated box, or a shipping bag ?

        • +1

All of my orders came in Amazon-type corrugated boxes and usually with some kind of cushioning inside, unless the Lego box fit precisely within the dimensions of the shipping box.

      • This is very useful, I've ordered from iWoot and the shipment didn't arrive after over a month so I got refunded which isn't too bad in the end. Combining the slight negative experience with the very negative experience I've come hesitant to buy Lego from them, but your comment has given me a little bit more willingness to give another shot so thank you.

  • I ordered from quite a few of the Lego Speed series from one of their subsidiaries (thegeekbox), of the 11 orders, 3 were crumpled beyond repair and 1 has not arrived yet. I was expecting them to combine the 11 pieces into one large box (same order). They however sent the 11 boxes in their own individual 'boxes'.

    • I think that may be why they have such a bad reputation on OzB.

On a side note, Zavvi might be different ?

      • I've ordered a much larger item from Zavvi before (Ferrari 488) and it came in perfect condition. The box they used was slightly larger than the lego box itself….Luck of the draw to see how they pack it i guess.

  • Anyone tried to order recently? Saying it can't deliver to my address… have they stopped delivery to Aus for larger items?

    • I have ordered this one and got delivered yesterday.

    • i have just tried and its working fine.
