Not going to neg but really can't see the value in this. Above about $100 Oral B just adds on weird gimmicks, they don't clean any better.

    • +9

$350 for a toothbrush is stupid

      • -5

        More than 50% under RRP

      • -5

@salmon123 Others will probably say it's stupid to spend $1500 on an iPhone 12 or whatever you desire.

        • +1

It's true, but if you're going to compare it to the iPhone, you'd have to compare the RRP of the toothbrush.

I don't know what a $700 toothbrush is, if a $350 toothbrush is stupid. I'd expect it to be gold plated and diamond encrusted for that sort of coin. Maybe it can fellate me too.

        • My guess is the market segment stating a $350 (or heaven forbid $750) tooth brush is a fine price but is dismissing the cost of a $1500 phone is pretty small. I suspect a lot of people refusing to spend $1500 on a phone also aren’t putting $350 down on a tooth brush.

      • I would actually pay that much if they managed to make one that is quiet.

    • -3

Fair enough if you are not interested in this product. It is the cheapest prize in Australia for those who are interested in this product. Sells normally on Shavershop.com.au for $399 and Ebay same prize. Using the only available code on Ebay for this still drops it only down to $379,05. RRP is $749 by the way…

    • Display screen helps motivate you.

Yeah, no. Keeping my teeth at 70 helps motivate me. Also, being 15x the price of my $25 electric brush, I'd be lucky if this one cleans even twice as good…
Not negging the deal, though. I'm sure someone will find it useful.

    • Oral-B Comparison chart:
      https://www.electricteeth.com/au/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/…

Not wrong, it's mostly just gimmicks like rechargeable travel case/extra modes that people likely won't use.

Something like the Smart 7000 for $89 ($99-$10 email coupon) at shavershop has essentially most of the functions/accessories and would serve the majority of people just fine.

      • For anyone who uses that chart for information…. Don't expect more than 2 days use from a single charge.. at least for the 5000. It really slows down, even by day two without a charge.

  • I'll wait for series 11

    • I'm waiting for one with NFC and band 28

  • +4

The $10 delivery just kills it for me…

  • +2

For those that can't justify paying the price (like me), worth a look at the Oclean X Pro Elite that's currently on sale.

  • +4

RRP 749 - jeez might as well make it a funny number like 8008 or 69,420 if we’re just going to be working with ridiculous figures.

I got Oclean X Pro Elite in last deal and look, it’s a cool toothbrush but even at $97 for a kit with 4 brush IMO it’s still overpriced.

    • -5

It is the official RRP if you like it or not.

    • Are you talking about a high-yield investment toothbrush?
That should be $80k. At the very least.

  • +1

You think this can be a deal for ozbargainers? Come on!

  • +1

Dont bother. Go with Oclean tootbrush instead

  • +1

    Ridiculous price.

  • Just buy the Oclean X Pro Elite for $90 and you'll get a better toothbrush to boot.

  • Just why?! You can buy the most expensive toothbrush but if you’re lazy, you’re lazy and your teeth will of course go bad. There is not much difference with a manual toothbrush and an electric toothbrush. Save your money, watch youtube on how to properly manipulate your toothbrush and floss, or talk to your dentist.

CHEAPEST PRIZE I HAVE SEEN IN AUSTRALIA SO FAR

    Please update your description. PRICE
In all seriousness, why are you incorrectly using the word prize everywhere?

The cheapest price was via Shavershop eBay with the Afterpay 15% off code => $339.15.

      • Code is expired

Irrelevant to my point. You were talking about cheapest price historically, which this deal is definitely NOT.

        So it is not incorrect.

        COMPLETELY INCORRECT

        American English

The last time I checked, Australia is NOT one of the states in the USA.
This site is called OzBargain not YankyDoodleBargain.

      • 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have no idea who taught you English but it certainly wasn't an American. Or an Englishman. Or an Australian.

I've also never seen anyone defend the incorrect spelling of such a basic word so indignantly. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Instead of wasting $350 on a toothbrush, invest it in some English lessons.

      • +1

        Wrong.

In American English (and.. English in general).. Prize and Pice are two different words.

Prize - a thing given as a reward to the winner of a competition or in recognition of an outstanding achievement.
Price - the amount of money expected, required, or given in payment for something.

Also even if you were right, citing 'American English' is invalid here because if you haven't noticed, this is ozbargain. Oz.. is informal short form for Australia, in case that doesn't translate in American English.

  • +2

You need to brush up on your English. It’s not a prize.

    • -6

And you need to brush up your ability to be nice to people you don’t know. In American English it is “prize”…

      • +1

You might want to double check that.
If English isn’t your first language it’s an understandable mistake.

      • +3

Didn’t neg you but that’s definitely not correct.

And did you just change your username over it? You’re an interesting fellow 🤔

  • +1

I’m a yank, this is not a good prize.

I bought an expensive Oral-B, the motor loses power after a few years, at the 4 year mark it definitely not performing well. Just get a cheap one that performs the same and a new one every year.

    Prize.prize.prize.prize.

    Prize!

    • Just out of interest, which model did you buy?

      • +2

        Bought 2015, Oral B Bluetooth PC7000, $164.

  • -2

Here is a serious question to the OP, and everyone else.

What does the Oral-B iO Series 9 have that is missing from the Oclean X Pro Elite Smart Electric Toothbrush that you would want to pay 4x more for?

    • Don't think you can compare the two. One uses oscillation (Oral-B) and one uses sonic vibration (Oclean).

There's been several studies that suggests that oscillating toothbrushes cleans better than sonic, but both are better than manual.

A better comparison would be a mid-range Oral-B vs these ridiculously expensive $350+ Oral-B, I doubt there is any real difference when it comes to cleaning performance.
