Should I Travel to Orange, NSW from Vic

My daughter and I were going to go visit friends in Orange, driving from Melbourne, thinking of leaving next Wednesday (30 Jun). I’m hesitant given Sydney’s COVID lockdown (I’m aware it’s not in Orange).

What would you do?

    Stay in VIC.

    Not time for travel. You may get stuck there anytime.

    Depends on the reason for travel;

    If it's for leisure, maybe delay the trip for a few weeks to see how the situation evolves.

    If it's for a matter of priority/urgency like visiting really sick family/friends, then go for it.

    You never know it might get worse and you can’t get back or 14d self quarantine.

  • What's wrong with you?

    Orange isn't in a hotspot… go for it

    Go for it. Make sure you are able to run for the Vic border at any given midnight or whatever they plan (5hr run plus delays)

  • When lockdown gets extended to all of NSW you'll be stuck there. Unless you were planning to go there for a month or more, stay in VIC.

    Isn't all of NSW, excluding border communities is an orange zone now? So when you return you need to do a covid test and isolate.

    • Good point - just looked it up and yes - Orange is in the Orange zone! So “ In order to enter Victoria, you must agree to the requirement of self-quarantine, get a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of arrival and remain in self-quarantine until you receive a negative test result.”
