Just be careful with this. Some of the Jedi Knight games won't play on modern OSs / hardware. I have the pack but JK2 and JK3: Jedi Academy won't work for me.

    • What card are you running? Check the forums out or a quick google search i easily solved any initial problems :)

      • I tried everything, couldn't get them to work. This is on a 5850.

Of course you're going to have compatibility issues since four of these games are over 7 years old.
      Do some research.

Dark Forces is a DOS game, Dark Forces II is Win95/98 compatible (as is its expansion Mysteries of the Sith) and Jedi Outcast is designed for XP.

So you'll either want to use DOSBOX or look for compatibility patches/hacks to make these games run.

Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy should run on Win 7 without any modification though, maybe a change the compatibility mode of the .exe but that's about it.

The most annoying issue with games that predate the emergence of LCDs as the dominant display technology is the fact that none of these games run natively on any wide-screen resolution (as they predate the commonality of HD viewing resolutions), so getting them to appear undistorted on your monitor will be exceedingly difficult.

      Try Widescreen Wiki: http://widescreengamingforum.com/

      • "Do some research." Wtf? I am well aware of how old the games are. Perhaps Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy should run on Win 7 without modification, but I'm here to tell you that's not always the case. Here's a link of other people having similar problems with an ATi card: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13095…

Looks like there was a fix for it, but the link in that thread is gone now (note this thread is later than when I was trying to play it).

Jedi Outcast probably one of the best PC games ever.
I'd get it if I didn't already have it.

  • I just started Dark forces on Win7 64 seemed to work for me

Only thing is the colours went funny after a while and I cant seem to set mouse look, Im sure in the original I had I could set mouse look (as in up down).

    • Tried compatability mode and/or running as admin?
