  I had some of this and oh my goodness. It tasted like a hospital, is the only way to describe it. Iodine and this weird other chemical flavour.

    No age statement whisky, it was probably metallic/copper that's classic from a young spirit.

  It's not great. Spend your $100 elsewhere. The fire and cane is the more successful experiment. And then the XX project.

  Never tried this and not tempted. Project XX is rather special, better off waiting for that to go on sale. It is regularly on special around the $95 mark at Dan’s.

  The Jameson's caskmate/ IPA is pretty good..BUT… Whoever has seen an IPA brewed in a barrel?? Doesn't make sense.

    I've been to probably 100 breweries and never seen beer brewed or stored in a barrel! There was a beer festival a couple years ago where a brewer was experimenting using ex port/wine/whiskey barrels, but that was a very small batch.

    My guess is Jameson pay a local brewer to fill up x amount of their barrels with beer, then just throw it out.
