Need a New Laptop, similiar to the Lenovo S540, around $1500

Hey folks,

As the title suggests, I need a new laptop. I was going to buy the Lenovo S540 (4800u, 16gb, 512Gb, 300nit 1440p screen) for $1100 but they seem to have been discontinued.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for something around the $1500 budget that have similiar specs? I will be using it primarily for office work and media consumption, no gaming.

I do have access to an edu email so can exploit any educational store discounts if possible. I also considered the Zenbook 14 (5700u) but it seems almost impossible to find the 1W screen.

Need:
- Decent CPU (Preferably Ryzen cause of 8C/16T)
- 16GB Ram
- >300nit display, preferably with decent colours.
- Nice battery life (>8h)

    I'd recommend the Yoga Carbon from my post below. It's a feel good machine.

    My X1 Yoga has the same processor as the post above, and everything flies even it's 'only' 4C/8T.

    Personally I prefer better build quality, and higher end Lenovos are top notch, on par with Macbooks.

      I second this, i use the Yoga Slim7i Carbon as my one and only PC that i dock into my big 32" monitor when home, it is an amazing little laptop for what i paid (just under $900 after intel cashback). It's very light being under a kilo and has excellent screen quality (also 16:10). The Windows Hello feature from the IR camera is pretty handy too and works reliably for unlocking.
