Depends how old it is. Which Gen is it? Capacity? Wifi only, or wifi + cellular?
Google'd some random store says $599.
Maybe try Google to give you a more precise response?
take it to Apple. They replace the whole unit. The screens can't be replaced without 90% chance of damaging the device.
Not mine. If I was the OP I'd offload the damaged unit on Gumtree or the classifieds here and get the new M1 based one.
What a lie, if you have no idea what you are doing you will damage the unit. However most competent repair shops can easily do it. Thing is, finding a competent repair shop.
How did you break it?
My old 2nd gen got dropped in a case on concrete. Hairline fracture running diagonally across the screen. Not really noticeable when it’s on. Definitely feel it with the fingers moving over it though. Not worth the $$$ to get it fixed.
What if you put a glass screen protector over it.
Haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll order one from ebay and see if it helps.

Same thing happened to mine when it was stepped on, quotes were all around the 800 mark for my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9. I ended up offloading it on eBay and managed just north of $600. It was super disappointing but you should still get a good price for it if you decide to sell.
