Tefal GV7250 Express Steam Generator Iron $249 @ Myer in-Store and Online (Free Shipping)

70

As my iron packed up on the weekend and wanting something to make life easier, I found this deal (and bought one today).

Reviews are generally quite positive for this type of iron (could only find the next model up reviewed which had 1.8L tank instead of 1.4L, and 5.5bar pressure instead of 4.5). I have just completed my big batch of ironing completed in about 30-40% less time but best of all my shirts look far better. After going from a regular but expensive iron to this steam generator, it makes me wonder why I didn't get one sooner.

Cheapest elsewhere that I could find was Billy Guyatts ($258, or $199+$25 shipping on ebay for an ex-demo with unknown warranty status), but I couldn't wait for online shipping.

I'm shocked… $249 for an iron and I still have to work it? no thanks!

    • then you compare normal vacuum cleaner with dyson on and on and on.

i know this product is not for everyone.

  • Why do u need such expensive iron?

  • Womble, does this iron output a continuous stream of steam or just bursts of steam? I downloaded the user instructions (for the GV7150 though) and doesn't really say. And I couldn't tell from youtube videos. And how noisy is it? Seems a little loud on the videos, lots of clicking noises and motor sounds. Can you still watch tv while using this iron?

    • Yep it doea continuous steam ( does entire shirt on one go with no sign it was running out of puff) fine with TV on for me. There's a trigger in handle to release steam as you dont want steam spurting out non-stop for safety.

As the steam is directed at clothes the noise isnt bad (unsure if video you saw had person blasting steam at video camera?).

Motor and clicking and noises didnt bother me

As for comments about the price compared to a cheap iron, it'll save me an hour per week, my time is worth alot to me. If you're happy with slow irons or dont need to iron much then sure dont bother

  • This looks similar to what I got (but not entirely sure on the model). They are great as you can just iron one side with steam and the other side has been done for you. We use this for tshirt, business shirt, business trouser, etc… You can use this on Jeans but if you don't want to see some crisp mark on the other side, you may have to iron the other side. The steam is continuous if you press the blue button on the handle of the iron. We have this for more than a year and I would never go back to a normal iron. This one cuts your ironing in almost half the time.

  • Is this one of those things that you wave over clothes that are hanging, and the steam just gets all the creases out?

    • You need an ironing board with this one. It is an iron with steam. You can use the iron without steam if you want.
