HP Envy 15 $1296 AUD JB Hi-Fi after Price Match

Moved to Forum: Original Link

I got this after convincing them to price match the price for me. the original price was 1699AUD from HP website, jb hifi, and all the stores.

jb hifi was offering $1483 on their catalogue. use my receipt to get a price match for this laptop. a very good laptop with this price is a really good catch.

Please note that on HP's website, the RAM MHz and the graphics card model are listed wrongly.

2.2 GHz 2670QM
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
1GB GDDR5 ATI 7690M

its really a good deal

  • Don't really see why it should cost that much anyway (the rrp) there is nothing special about it except the fact it has a new gen gfx card, better deals out there imo but nice find regardless.

  • and the fact that it has 6.1 speakers and the casing. thats why its more exp. its aluminium magnesium for most of the parts.

The dell xps has 5.1 support and is aluminum.

Its the beats logo thats making it expensive. TBH theres nothing good about beats in anyway. Their headphones are rubbish and i seriously doubt their software/dacs would be any better.

Edit - only thing i'd buy this for is the battery slice support. If this model still supports it.

Why they dont put USB 3.0?

Congrats on the successful haggle but Price Match don't qualify as an OZB 'bargain iirc

    • What was the price matched to?

  • If you gonna pay that much for the envy 15, might as well get Pavilion DV6-6c38t, I went to buy it few weeks ago at JB hifi, both envy 15 and the dv6-6c has the same price tag, same cpu & ram, where dv6-6c has so much more like 2 usb 3, full hd, anti glare screen, bluray reader, slightly better gfx card. The only thing dv6 lost to envy 15 was the backlit keyboard which is a good option, but I still chose the dv6, it also has beatsaudio.

I got the DV6-6C38t for $1329 with an extra 2 years warranty for $100

I initially wanted to get the envy 15 despite the losses compare to dv6-6c, but I changed my mind when I saw the slot-loaded optical drive, I was afraid it wouldn't fit a caddy for 2nd hdd in there (I use SSD for system and 2nd HDD for stuffs, thus I remove optical drive).

    Hope that helps

  • Two of the same? Nice!

  • since you bought two, that might have helped with your price…

Good price considering the specs and build. I quite like this laptop except for its horrible trackpad which is a little stiff for my liking but the volume control is a nice touch. It might have beats audio but the speakers aren't anything special - I've heard better.

  • Nice laptop, but since you bought TWO of these AND warranty for BOTH I expected the price to be a little bit better, since they just had their 15% off sale a little while ago….

  • this model MAY include the beats bonus*

have not checked, but if they do RESELL them to make the machine even cheaper

  • 1366 X 768 on a 15 inch screen ? No thanks.

    • it's standard……………….

  • Price matching is NOT a bargain as per our guidelines - great info to share - so belongs in forums
