What Would You Do Better? Best Credit Card and Bank Combo

Hello everyone!

I would love some feedback on my credit card and bank situation. I have had a look at the sticky posts but would still love some feedback.

Currently, I have:

ING Everyday - my salary goes into this, and I put through the minimum transactions a month on the debit card to get the interest.
ING Saving Maximiser - my savings

Qantas American Express Ultimate card - I pay for everything on this when there is not a surcharge.

CommBank Smart Access - don't use
Netbank saver - don't use
CDIA - use for shares.
Master Card Platinum - use when I can't use my AMEX. It has an annual fee, but I was upgraded from a gold to platinum and only pay the $150 of the old gold card.

I pay off my credit card in full every month and I feel like I should drop the CB credit card. I was looking at that Paypal card deal.

Any advice would be appreciated.

get afterpay link it to your amex and get zip link it to bundll and then link it to any rewards visa or mc card that does have annual fee for life

    • Thanks! What is the benefit of doing this?

Longer interest free period, unless you get better benefits/rewards by using physcial cards directly.

  • Commsec is hella expensive for share trading unless you do it once in a blue moon. Selfwealth by comparison is only $9.50 per trade. There are some ones that are free to trade as long as you are happy to use their shared HIN.

Definitely get rid of credit cards with annual fees, especially for the second one which you only use occasionally. I think ING does a no annual fee one - have you looked into that, since you've already got an ING account and you would be able to get rid of commonwealth manage it all in one place.

That Qantas Ultimate one with the $450 annual fee makes my eyes water.

    • Thanks for your reply. I feel like the Qantas one balances itself out with the travel credit.

As for Commsec, I don't day trade, but I do have a selfwealth.

  • Pick your own poison, everyone's needs aren't the same.
    Currently CBA / 28D / Amex / for me.

CBA cards are one of the lowest points earners.. buy I guess it depends on the volume you put through it if it's changing
