Raffen 200mg still cheaper per gram at full RRP

As far as I can find they're not modified release though, so may as well go with Woolies/Coles/Aldi brand ibuprofen if you're looking for price per gram

        Yep $1.55 for 24 pack of 200mg generic ibuprofen at Woolworths = 19c for 600mg v 66c for 600mg.

Not sure this is about the price per unit, but that they are a twice a day tablet. For anyone who takes these regularly (Eg: recent surgery, or injury) they might find it better for pain control and less chance of error of taking either too early or to late from their previous dose.
But yes.. I buy the generic supermarket brands atm for around 8cents a tablet.
I think the generic have now started selling them at supermarkets for around $5.60 a 24 pack. But not sure if they're a full 24 slow release as these.

  • drugs are awesome

  • Too many drug deals these days!

    • This deal gave me headache

    • Sad but true but we're now a pill popping society.

These deals are great for those who have chronic illnesses or pains.

Another one of these idiotic 'Call the pharmacy first!'

Another fine example: You can buy as much Voltarin 12.5mg over-the-counter as you like, but want 25mg? Oh no … that's far too dangerous.

    • Not sure if I'd call this 'idiotic'.
Yes.. Many people tend to look for a pill rather than go to a doctor and be told something like rest and drink lots of fluid as you only have a cold.
Saying that, some people are already taking pain medication and would like the convenience of not having to take this tablet every 8 hours.
If they're also taking regular panadol for their pains then they can now get long life panadol.

I know that when I've had to take a dose of antibiotics in the past its not always easy to remember to take them every X amount of hours, and they're only for a short time.
Some people need these medications for life.

  • are these good for hang overs?

    • Depends what you got up to the night before.

      • binge drinking alcohol?

Effectiveness directly proportional to the number of sprains and broken limbs I think.
Can let you know tomorrow morning.

          • @scottb721: Thanks, what have you been drinking tonight?

            • @Homr: Devil's Creek Merlot and Absolut Vanilla Vodka. You ?

              • @scottb721: not drinking tonight, will drink tomorrow night so that's why i want get some hang over cures prepared for Saturday morning

                • +1

                  @Homr: Only real hangover cures
                  Symptoms and treatment:
                  Headache: dehydration
                  Fluids

                  Feeling crap: depleted Vit B
Vit B (try eating some Vit B foods rather than reaching for the expensive Berocca)

and depleted fat (yes fat.,,note, not a good weight loss plan)
We all know about the greasy food part (Mmmm kebabs)

So drink water, eat a banana and down some greasy goodness.

                  • @FredAstair: I've tried those, it never works for me. The headache just keeps getting more painful throughout the day. Nurofen tends to help the most.

                    • @Homr: Fair enough. As it's a controlled release they probably take longer to work on headaches.
Did you take one or two of them.
Ive often taken 400mg (script brand called Brufen).
