Kogan, Soniq or DSE?

I'm thinking of about buying one of the following tv's but as I'm not quite an expert when looking at TV specs as I am with looking at computer specs, I was wondering if you guys could help me out.

Soniq

Kogan
http://www.kogan.com.au/shop/46-lcd-tv-hd-tuner-srs-audio/

DSE
http://dicksmith.com.au/product/GE6805/dick-smith-40-quot-fu…

I'm pretty much going to just be watching blu-ray anime on it and my crunchyroll 1080P streams.
Not too fussed about sound as It's going to be connected to an external sound system

I just want to know in terms of reliability and picture quality, which would be better.

only those three? they're all piles of chinese mediocrity

try to find any brand name thats not LG, Hitachi, AWA… at that price a good 42 should be possible

    • at that price a good 42 should be possible

ATM, yes. If one was to peddle one's arse into a BigW store there's some cracker bargains on the floor right now!

  • I thought soniq uses samsung panels? or is that only the 32"?

  • My Soniq has no problem, I consider it as a premium cheap brand. I checked DSE panel before deciding on Soniq, and I can see shadows, and I cannot check the Kogan out in shops.

Ummm, none? LOL if I HAD to choose I would go with Soniq.

    • yep same

  • In order
    Kogan
    DSE
    Soniq
    From best to worst imo.

  • I got a dse 40 inch lcd tv.

Its pretty crappy pic quality but for $340 it does the job.

  • If you ever mention kogan again i'll cry,
Products are terrible. TV resets channels, put cardboard in tv speaker to stop it ratling.

    Please don't make the mistake i did…

  • Wow…. I think it's a little like asking if you'd prefer to have your private bits cut off with a rusty knife, pulled off by pliers, or gnawed off by a rottweiler. OK, they're not THAT bad but they are built to a price point… you may be lucky, but don't expect to be wowed by the image quality or expect to put the tv in your will for future generations. Some of these guys might talk about their panels coming from x,y, or z name brand but that could mean a much older generation panel or maybe from their 'not quite right' pile… and in any case the panel is only part of the picture (so to speak) - the 'brains' of the tv (tuner etc) could be slow, or awful to use, or lack features, or all the above and more….

My vote goes for trying to find something better that's marked down. For example, a 42inch Panasonic plasma for $498 (http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/televisions/plasma-tv/bpn…).
