Suggestion on a Good 2 L Water Bottle?

A 2 L to ensure I've met my amount for the day :)

The bottle I bought from Chemist Warehouse is so bad that there are signs of cracking after a few months of use. Despite using Tritan plastic. I thought it was due to the way I handle it but I've cycled through 2 times with this brand. I just have a hunch that same price range bottles like Kmart will cause another leakage.

Any recommendations of a water bottle that's
- At least 2 L
- Sturdy that would last long.

Thanks.

Most quality bottles (in my experience) are less than 1 litre.

Above 1 litre it's becoming impractical and a bit gimmicky so I guess quality is reduced.

    Also, username checks out

    • Ah I see…so I guess a good 1 L would be a Camelbak then which the brand has my trust.

I've had this bottle for over 2 years dropped many times and is still going strong.

      At least 2 L

    • Yup, Camelbak is one of the best. I guess my decisions made. Thanks

  • I've got one from Kathmandu - happy with it; it's 1.8L, I'm just telling myself that two cups of coffee makes up for 200ml shortfall.

Another option is to ignore the quality and get something relatively cheap. I've seen water bottles at Aldi a week ago.

    • How long have you had it for? Just the Tritan that makes me sussed

      • Since May.

  • FYI the 2L or 8 cups a day "requirement" is a total myth with no evidence behind it. Just get a nice bottle that will last.

    • I know it varies from person to person but it is a good rule of thumb

      • There's nothing wrong with drinking 2L of water a day (as far as I know, anyway) but it's not a rule of thumb or anything close to that.

I know it's not 2L, but Nalgene have a good 48oz bottle. Made in USA.

    • +1 for Nalgene. Been using my 1L one for a couple years and it's still going strong. I pour almost-boiling water into it and I've dropped it whilst full and it's been fine. Can easily get a cap replacement for it if that breaks. OP, check out Reddit for some threads on bottles.

Another vote for the nalgene. Personally been using the 1L version for over 12 years and it’s still going strong. I want to replace it but it has not broken or given me reason to.

Granted, I have owned other bottles in between the years, but I have gravitated back to the nalgene.

        • Third vote for nalgene. Had a few knock off styles that are never as good. My silo like the one in pic is going on for 6 or 7 years, then I also have a 1L one that's fine after about 5 years. They've been rock climbing, backcountry skiing, surf trips, road trips, work trips and all over. They show it but they're still going strong.

  • Got one of these a couple of months back, so far so good.

    • Is the cap sealed good enough that you can have your trust being in your bag, or inverting it won't leak?

Yep, it screws on, hasn't leaked at all.

    cordial bottle
    .

  • Camelbak generally gets a good rap.

    I personally use a 1L Tupperware bottle.
Missus has the same and a 1L stainless steel insulated bottle.
    Kids have Camelbak Eddy's.

  • Personally love this one. Have bought 2 for friends and family too. I also refill and drink the whole thing twice a day. Never been so hydrated in my life!

if you are still looking, https://www.kathmandu.com.au/wm-tritan-1-8ltr-bottle.html is on sale for 30 dollars at the moment (usual price 50)

it's only 1.8 litre, but close enough. 30 dollars is what the normal price should be, so i would consider it a fair deal.
