What are the best cryptocurrency apps for Android?

As the title states what are the best cryptocurrency buying and selling Android apps that cover a wide range of cryptocurrency and gives the best financial position to users and most importantly for Australians.

I am interested to buy a few ones from ADA to baby dogecoin and a few others but not sure which Android app works best and I assume all of them require identification to be confirmed or is there one that is as easy as just signing up and using PayPal or mastercard debit card etc.

What's the simplest one to use?

  • Binance are pretty good for me
Babydoge and other memecoin that is not listed, use MetaMask.

  • You don't really want an "App", you want to use an exchange (BTCMarkets, HITBtc, etc) they typically provide rich web interfaces to buy/sell.

    • I have btc markets account but iirc they only have a few coins you can buy or sell from mostly the large ones.

      • HITBtc is pretty good for a large selection of coins.

Easy to use Aussie exchange but higher costs to use (in fees and spread) = Coinspot
A bit more complexity but one of the biggest exchanges in the world and lets you do so much more with way lower fees and spread = Binance…

Remember to use referral codes when signing up to take advantage of the signup bonuses and share the love by using a random ozbargainer's referral code by using the following ozbargain api links:

    Binance
    Coinspot

And for the love of god spend some time researching crypto on youtube and understand the basics. The number of people who don't even understand the difference between price and market cap and think every useless scammy meme coin can become the next bitcoin is unreal. There's plenty of scams out there to take advantage of the ignorant, so protect yourself by being less ignorant.

      • But this coin is only $0.0000000000003. It has so much room to grow!

    • My coinspot got compromised so I had to lock it and shut it down.. If I ever use it again I will probably have to change all my security details but for now I'm just hoping to use a new platform and use better password and security and not an easy to break password.

Yeah my coinspot I am pretty sure has been compromised so it is under lockdown right now.

      • Swyftx is your next best aussie exchange

Crypto attracts capital gains tax in Australia and the ATO has made it very clear that they are gonna target unreported crypto gains so you're probably better off going with an exchange that reports to the ATO directly so you don't have to worry about tracking all your gains manually. As a result, set-up requires identification and will likely take a few days. I use Swyftx - its Aussie and provides a good spread so it is quite cheap when it comes to buying. It has a passable android app too.

    • So swyftx does auto reporting to the ATO and prefills stuff for tax time? this sounds pretty good for CGT reporting and tracking then.

      I'll look it up.

      • Use Koinly for your tax. It links to your exchange securely via APIs and downloads all the transactions into Koinly and calculates your tax for you. Integrates with all major exchanges and wallets. Free if you just want the final CGT figure, or you can pay to download Tax reports if you want them. Absolute life saver.

        • so do i download this on my android phone and windows desktop?

          how does it work

          • @AlienC: its a website, https://koinly.io/, should work on either phone or desktop. Create an account and it will guide you through how to link to your exchange. For example on coinspot you go to your profile > APIs > click generate API, and then you provide koinly the private and public API key. This gives koinly full Read Only access to your coinspot exchange account, allowing it to download all your transactions. Koinly processes all this, and displays it in a nice easy to read format showing all your gains, losses, fees, etc, and gives a final CGT amount for you to give to your accountant or enter into the correct field if your do your own tax.

Saves hours trying to figure out the gain or loss on each transaction in a big excel spreadsheet.

  • Find a reputable on-ramp that has USDC, USDT, DAI, UST, TUSD or PAX. Convert the local fiat to one of these tokens and then tx to a wallet like Atomic, Trust, Safepal, Exodus, Coinomi or Metamask. People can from here use DEX to trade or tx to a CEX for short-term trades.

There are plenty of YT and links that go into more detailed information on how to trade digital assets. Spend a few hours reading/watching before putting a week's worth of wage or more into the market.

  • CoinJar, Binance App, Coinbase. Coinbase is my favorite and has lot of features such as viewing all crypto prices, learning about crypto, earning rewards, and viewing the latest news headlines for each currency. CoinSpot is an Australian crypto exchange platform where users can trade over 280 cryptocurrencies. The CoinSpot mobile app offers Australian users a simple way to view and make transactions, see top performers of the day, and send and receive crypto securely via their wallet

    • Can you withdraw from Coinbase to AUD yet? They wouldn't let you when I last looked
