Everyday Rewards - Unrecognised QFF Number Linked

So I've just returned back from living abroad a few years, and did a bunch of grocery / petrol shopping with Woolworths / BP, all linked to my Everyday Rewards card.

I eventually got a notification that I accumulated enough points to earn 1000 QFF points. I checked my QFF account, and it wasn't there.

I then logged into my Everyday Rewards account and noticed the linked QFF number was not mine, which completely baffles me.

I immediately changed my password, but realised that someone must have hacked into my account and changed the QFF number to their own, earning the points that I've been earning for who knows how long.

It doesn't seem like there's any login history for me to check, but I'm just wondering if I have their QFF number, is there a way to identify who this person is?

I'm not that bothered since it's just QFF points but if they've done it to me, I'm sure they must have done it to many other people.. and maybe they should be stopped / banned from QFF.

Thoughts?

Are you sure you don't have multiple QFF accounts accidentally?
I had made a similar mistake when I realised I had an old QFF account linked with an old Yahoo email.

It seems a bit much for someone to hack into an account to steal 1000 QF points. Although, wouldn't completely surprise me if someone did do this.

    • yeah somehow i also got 2 rewards accounts

It's definitely not mine, as I tried to attempt forget password on QFF's website, and it doesn't match my last name.

Also requesting forget membership number sends my original QFF number to my email.

I've contacted Everyday Rewards support and it seems it was changed since Aug 2018, so it may be more than 1000 QF points. I just never really checked my Qantas account until recently. They were kind enough to credit me back the 1000 QF points.

Also, they could have done this to many users, so it ends up being 1000 * x, which could be pretty sweet hack for them.

I did also contact Qantas and they didn't seem to bothered by the incident. Ah well.
