Anyone Else Having Suddenly Issues with The Cashrewards App Not Tracking Purchases Anymore?

We all know cashback can be very flaky and not track for a variety of reasons.

I have hence completely changed my buying routine whenever I plan to use cashback. Instead of going via desktop, I will for such cases:

  • use the CR/SB app on my mobile
  • disconnect from WIFI and only use mobile data
  • make sure the full transaction is executed within the app itself
  • take a screenshot at the end

So far I this was very successful, leading to a tracking rate of 100%. This has now suddenly stopped and my last three buys using the Cashrewards app have all not tracked (admittedly, one of them was a non-affiliate buy from Aliexpress, but I believe this would normally still track as a purchase, but then either have 0% or be rejected).

Given that I have not changed anything in my process, it seems that the CR app has gotten less reliable and I am starting to think to maybe just give up completely on cashback as the hassle is starting to be much more than the benefits.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that purchases are not tracking reliably anymore in the CR app recently?

Update: Based on the replies, there does not seem to be a general issue with the app, so might just be me.

  • I have Microsoft Edge in desktop without any ad blocker for using these sites. Usually i use Opera only for all other things with ad blocker.

    • Yup, sure.

      The second one was a an 'affiliated' Aliexpress product (i.e. definitely valid for 5% cashback). The third one was Banggoood (Category B: 4.2%).

      And like I said, it did always track without a single issue in the past, then suddenly it stopped tracking completely since about a month (only three transactions in that time though).

      • Please PM me your CR email address and the two links to the exact items you purchased (did you use coupons for either purchase, or use the stores apps?). Also please advise if you have a VPN enabled on your mobile, and if you're running wifi behind a corporate firewall. Thanks.

        • Thanks TA, appreciated but I have already logged the claims and trust that the support team will do what they can.

          Based on the other replies there does not seem to be a general issue with the app, so it is consequently some issue on my end.

          I will probably just stop using Cashback services, as even with my efforts to create a complete clean environment (use dedicated cashback app, use mobile data rather than wifi, disable any blockers, etc.) I still do not get a consistent result. Such a shame, as there are often really good offers available!

  • I always use another browser with no extensions installed when going through CB sites. I've had no issues with tracking this way

  • Is anyone experiencing tracking issues with Aliexpress recently (within the past year)?

    Like the OP I'm following a similar process when placing orders:

    1) Check product is affiliated
    2) Clear cart
    3) Checkout using Cashrewards app

    Despite this, sometimes it tracks, sometimes it doesn't. Initially I thought it was to do with auto-applied coupons but upon checking, this isn't the case. In fact, the untracked orders don't have any coupons applied.

    I would like to get to the bottom of this, it seems like this is the only store with tracking issues.
