Tech Fast aren't honouring the code, apparently it was only meant to be for PC purchases? Doesn't say that next to the code I got though

"This code won't be honoured for this deal, sorry to everyone. It was not intended for this product. Anyone who has paid will refunded as soon as possible in the working week. The code comes from the setup guide we ship with PCs and is intended for PCs only." - Luke Tech Fast

      • Because $1700 is a lot more than $1400 for the performance difference. Not everyone has an infinite budget.

        • -1

The person asked what opinions were on a second hand 6800 for $1300-$1400.

I wrote an opinion in a form of a rhetorical question. If that is not clear enough then here is direct opinion:

Second hand 6800 at $1400 is bad value. If looking to spend $1400 then try to stretch to a brand new 6800 xt.

And another explicit sentence: brand new 6800 can be purchased for below $1500. Second hand 6800 for $1300-$1400 is bad value.

So waiting is better than buying second hand 6800 for $1300-$1400. That is the opinion.

@luketechfast wtf ?, what about all the people that ordered under https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/637731 at $1788…

    • We haven't even had our orders shipped yet….

      • +2

        lol typical TF

why didn't you make this comment on the last thread and save all those people some money rather than waiting for them to fail and gloating about it?

          • +3

@Michael074: Like they would have listened. Every single 'deal' from techfast has people reporting slow shipping or non existent back orders. Ozbargain has a hardon for techfast and shouts down anyone who says otherwise.

            • @PlagueistheCheap: still I checked the comments for any negative feedback and saw none. if i saw just one person saying that techfast can't be trusted I would have done further research before buying. but all i saw was 100% positive comments, all upvotes. so yeah maybe you're right and techfast is crap, and I'm an idiot for overpaying. but by gloating about it now instead of saying something sooner that just means you're an ahole

              • @Michael074: Me too - it appears they don't actually have any stock and this is just a pre-order for their shipment at the end of July.

I can't seem to get any confirmation of how far in the list I am before it gets shipped.

              • +3

@Michael074: check yourself. There are plenty of comments criticizing TechSlow. Because you didn't do your due diligence stop looking for others to blame

                • -1

@Temerarious: I admitted I didn't check properly, but I will call out people who were silent until the next deal came through, because at least I tried.
you can laugh at people for walking into a lamppost and not watching where they are going. but the person who was watching and only chose to speak up afterwards I have no respect for and I don't know why you are trying to defend that person. maybe check yourself instead? you want to side with the people who just made a mistake or the trolls?

                  • +3

@Michael074: there have been plenty of people who have made comments about how much of a joke Techfast is. No idea why you are singling out one person who made a comment when you yourself did not do the proper homework.

No one owes you a dime and if you still don't understand that then I wish you all the best for the rest of your adult life.

                    • -1

@Temerarious: you realize this is a site about hunting for bargains? where as a group we come together to find bargains and then rate them accordingly to help other people determine if they have found a good…

you know what nevermind, I can see there's no point explaining this to you. you're probably just trolling as well.

where are the mods? shouldn't they be discouraging this sort of behaviour since it defeats the point of this website? unless maybe I missed the point and this is actually a website for watching people fail and then having a go at them. oh i see theres a report button. I'll use that.

    • if techfast does not allow a price match or cancel our order, I would be really piss off :)not that they care

      • I think they have no obligation to match. that being said I would always prefer to buy from anyone else if they didn't.

    • yeah in the same boat and I ordered just yesterday :/

    • -5

As my original explanation is on page 2, I'm posting here too, this coupon was not intended for this product so is unobtainable and will be refundable for any who purchased this price (item should have been excluded to avoid this situation). Apologies for confusion.

  • Wake me up TechFast when I see 3080ti deal

    • For $2500?

  • +3

    Still overpriced. HODL

  • +2

Reviews are poor for this card mostly fan issues ?

  • Which is probably why they won’t put them in a system

  • bought the BPC tech kraken gaming pc v4. Probably would make up for the cost difference till techslow ships.

To all people thinking to buy a 3080 now or later, the following might help you make a decision.

The avg hashrate you can get is 90-100 mhz by which you can mine around 0.16 ETH in a month. Maybe around 0.1 after electricity costs and taxes. Now the question is do you believe in ETH or not. Considering the current price of 2400AUD, that 0.1 ETH in a month till you wait for better price is 240 AUD. If you can Hodl and believe ETH to reach 10k Usd, then can multiply that 240 times 5 approx 1200 AUD. If you don't want to mine then should 100% wait

    • Yeh but this would be a pretty awful miner due to fan issues

      • not sure where u are getting that. it is loud but not awful. anyways my comment was general comment geared towards 3080 purchase, be it from any source this or bpc tech

    • The avg hashrate you can get is 90-100 mhz by which you can mine around 0.16 ETH in a month.

      How'd you calculate that? 100 MH/s is closer to ~0.09eth/mth pre-costs.

      https://minerstat.com/coin/ETH

      Rough calcs:
      - mining 0.09 eth = 229.94 AUD (price today @$2,554.91/eth)
      - 220w 24/7 @ 25c/kwh = $39.6 / 0.015eth

      Monthly profit = $190.34 / 0.074 eth (pre-tax and conversion rates to $ etc)

      • maybe that hash rate has gone up, but i used to earn that much eth/3 when i mined with my 1660 ti in march -apr this year with 30Mh/s so speaking with my experience

This is not the GS version "Golden Sample". Plus the Reddit review shows fan issues.

    • Apparently the GS version is worse..

      • GS is the same as OC model

        For example

        Phantom ~ Strix
        Phantom GS ~ Strix OC

  • So is this in stock or what?
    Techfast website is balls.

  • Fan noise are similar to this , it is loud

    https://youtu.be/SYn-Eo46Iyc

  • This is just the beginning. If you can wait there are cheaper prices to come

  • Out of the loop.. What does the majority think in terms of the best bang for buck GPU posted in the last 7-14 days on ozb? Thank you.

    • +1

probably this one right here. but since the luke the techfast guy has stopped communicating and suddenly price dropped after advertising to everyone a deal just a few days ago its starting to seem a bit like a scam and now im wondering has anyone actually bought from techfast before and received their product?

      • +2

People that bought from the ebay deal, received them about a week later

I bought right before posting the previous deal and mine hasn't shipped yet

        • +1

well at least they received them at some point that wasn't totally nuts. if they can ship the cards from last deal(yours probably at the same time) before the end of the month like they said that will be fine by me. although I don't know what timeframe they gave you when you bought.

      • +1

Let's not forget their website being compromised a few weeks back.

        • lol someone mad they didnt get their order in time? hahahaha

      • +1

I guess if you don't plan to try and make back some of your money mining overnight then and lhr card will probably be the best deal.

    • +1

      I think it's this one.
The only thing about it is there is almost no review about it. The only one on raddit is complaining about the noise but without a proper test and comparison to other brands, who knows?

  • Graphics card prices still not crashing as fast as Nvidia's share price

    • "crashing" yet it's just 10% off all time high lol

      • 10% so far, while the rest of the market is pushing new highs.

  • This card still looks better than the greasy gigaburger Gigabyte card I got from TF

  • Knowing the 3060 has 12gig over the 3080, and knowing the gtx 770 had 4gig over the 780 3gig, makes me wonder what game Nvidias playing.

Anyways hopefully china sella some second hand gpu's on eBay, given their track record.

    • Well nothing's gonna top the 3090's 24gig

      • Nothing has to, the price however will

        • Well SLi is dead or kinda anyways, so you're not gonna beat this best single performing graphics card or even an equivalent by using two or more lesser graphics card that are cheaper to own to combine their processing powers to be over the 3090….

          • @Zachary: Depends on what Ur using it for, if to model a 4k asset in substance painter 12gig of vram is plenty, even the 770 4gig varient does a reasonable job at 1080p for some, but price wise the only difference is the 3090 is pricier because it's a titan sibling.

            • @LoserScott: If I had a 3090, I would be using it to play heavily modded games that eat up vram like there's no tomorrow.

              • @Zachary: 3060 12vram at 1080p or lil higher (isn't going to outclass the 3070, or 3080, or even the 1660, but is definitely a choice over the 3090, however if your paying 1500 for one, best buy a 3090, I mean Australia was always going to pay roughly $3000 for the 3090, even with out the shortages it's just America complains about everything.

That 12gig of vram under $800 isn't to bad for modded games, or developers because beggers can't be choosers, but over $1000 absolutely not!!!

                • @LoserScott: Other than heavily modded vram eating games, keeping 144fps at 1440p would also be a challenge too with all eye candy on……

                  • @Zachary: Now we are entering into personal opinion, and it's becoming as abstract as art, well you clearly need the best, not the tool for a specific task.

                    • @LoserScott: Yeah, newer games are hard to run up to 144fps with all eye candy on at 1440p resolution. My 770 just doesn't cut it anymore…it was actually designed for 1080p60 gameplay, not 1440p144 gameplay! But even then, there are some games running at 1080p, and 60fps is unachievable! [Looks at Fallout 4]

                      • @Zachary: I think the 3060 would suffice at fallout 4, your comparing a 770 gtx 2 gig varient (that also had a 4 gig varient) towards a 3060 12gig varient.

Clearly with no rtx enabled it will obliterate the 770.

Your talking about chalk and cheese.

                        • @LoserScott: I didn't know Fallout 4 had RTX….or at least I don't remember such an option when I was configuring the graphics…..

I have two GTX 770s in SLi (and they also happen to be the 4GB variant too) and their theoretical realistic performance is that of a 1060 or so I read and heard…. But dunno how the 1060 stacks up with the 3060…..or if that also depends on its variants…

                          • @Zachary: Sometimes when I play fallout 4 I think: "does this have rtx on because the lightings so good" sadly if it did ah at that scale no gpu today would suffice with 60fps.

3060 or so I read and heard…. But dunno how the 1660 stacks up with the 3060…..or if that also depends on its variant and task at hand given one is sli enabled.

Architecture wise it's more improved over the 1660, but on par with the 1660, in some aspects of core count, but memory wise way way higher then a 1660.

Something else to consider only the 3090 is sli or crossfire enabled(depending on your lingo) however there's very little benefit in sli, (but if the pandemic never hit and Ethereum was hindered in some way)whose to say two 2080ti in sli's a bad thing.

Because it's all opinion and based on the task, and if you can get a good price on it why the hell not.

But if we are talking about CPU's then that's different because with the tmp security issue Microsofts pushing older cpu's will become so cheap, great if you wish to build a server, ect on Linux.

Not so great if you want to play the latest direct X 12. Ect extreme (what ever the hell they call it)

  • Good price

  • +2

keep on holding, prices will continue to drop as they can't move as much units as they want.

the light is there, we can see it.

personally im spending more than 1200 for a 3080 and i will be patient

    • +2

      Lol classic techfast.

    • Will you be shipping orders from the previous 3080 deal next week?

    • +4

Sorry about that, I read the code I got as "Save 5% on your next purchase from us" didn't know you had that limitation in place.

Everyone saying now is a bad time to buy, then when prices drop back down to MSRP the 4xxx series will be released and history will repeat itself. There will be no stock and we will be where we are now with everyone saying hold until the 5xxx series release. A never ending circle…

  • Don't count on them refunding you during the week. I've been waiting over a week for mine.

  • @luketechfast

    Hey guys,
I have been trying to get in contact with you guys for 3 weeks regarding a graphics card that has died, description of what happened has been explained in the emails that have been sent. I have tried contact via Facebook and email to no avail. Could someone please respond to me as it’s beginning to affect my work capabilities reverting to an old laptop. I’m a little disappointed with the lack of communication so if someone could at least respond to me as that would be greatly appreciated.

    • Try messaging him directly :)

      • Thanks for the heads up - tried that but only just created a OZ acc, therefore cannot yet :( haha
