Thanks for this. I had that city set up to a past holiday city because I guess that's where I first set it up for the first time. Probably why I wasn't getting any offers.

My previous "Local Guides Community Newsletter" was back in 25/6.
Am Level 6, got told I got a reward back in June. Then got another email from them:
We are aware that this month’s email newsletter included a note at the top that referenced a reward in the body of the email. This was an error and we apologize for any confusion it may have caused.
We are in the process of implementing additional checks to ensure that this does not happen again. We thank you for your understanding.

I found the same email. No reward for me a lt level 5, but I'm not very active so that's expted.
If I had known Super Cool Socks were a reward I may have put more effort in.
I got the option of socks, tote bag or a google guide pin.
Level 6, Nothing.

Does Google manage to make money out of this program somehow?
A large part of their product is crowd sourced data. The higher quality and quantity of this the more they can charge for their product (to advertisers).
It is in their interest to incentivise this creation of this data (their product).
It's essentially free labour (cough volunteering) to improve their data set.
Also helps people see a review on the place that isn't corrupt like product review

Email subject was "S, your June as a Local Guide"

Level 6 and got the choice of tote bag, socks or a Guides pin. Chose socks because I've got far too many Woolies green bags.
Level 7, got the bag offered. The previous email mentioned a reward, then the next apologized for mentioning it, so I hadn't bothered looking until I seen this!
But tote bags have a high carbon footprint, too. In fact, reusing a single plastic bag three times has the same environmental impact as using a cotton tote bag 393 times.

Level 8 here all i got was a feeling of rejection by Google.
Stopped actively contributing a long time ago due to lack of any incentives. Now I just update nearby stuff on occasion.
I like to spice it up by going to diff supermarkets in nearby areas haha.

Thanks for the post! Wouldn't have noticed. Level 7 have claimed the bag. Was given options of the 3, bag, socks or pin.
I got the email 'your June as a Local Guide' but there is nothing about rewards in there. So seems this is random or targeted towards specific people. No idea how they choose them though..
Nothing from Google, but Paypal just gave me $10 on an old account so I'll take that as a win for today.
