No deal. That 'Was' price is outrageous

I can easily get a Lenovo Chromebook Slim 3 with 4GB RAM, 32GB eMMC for $263 from Amazon Au. Not to mention it has an arguably faster and newer CPU inside.

Not sure about the great deal.
This deal 18 months ago they were $239 with a $100 gift card.
The hardware is also somewhat limited, with 32GB of storage and a slow CPU.

    • Thank you for the feedback! It is much appreciated
I will take this to my team to see how we can further improve this deal.

I feel sorry for anyone who paid $616.65 for one of these

      • +3

yeah tell your team dont dream to make lots of $ on this thing

    • Actually, the deal from JB at least had a FHD screen
This model in this deal is the inferior base model with 1366x768 screen - I cannot recommended this model, and it is way overpriced.

  • These should probably be clearance stock, with many better Chromebooks about.
The redeeming features from what I remember, where that:
+ it ran silent without fans,
+ has a reasonably long time until updates expire (maybe 2025 or later?)
+ speakers suck, but at least they are upwards firing
+ screen is matte (but not touchscreen), does not flicker and FHD
+ USB c ports usable on both sides

Maybe if they were back to the $100-$140 like the last deal it -may- be more enticing to some, but unfortunately also Chromebooks have evolved quite a bit since then (quad core comet lake CPU, Newer ARM CPU models, expandable NVMe SSD, touchscreen with pen, tablet hybrids etc).

    • We appreciate your comments, we are working on this now :)

What are you working on? You've posted a deal on a bargain website that's more expensive than your eBay store as mentioned below.

    • Update - this model has the low res 1366 x 768 screen, so do not know about PWM/flicker on this model.

  • How does this even have 2 positive votes?

Don't buy this. Go with Lenovo Duet Chromebook. Much better display / CPU / design / storage……

  • Wow, you guys told him 😂

    • Must be a ducked deal

Random find on Amazon shows better value:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Lenovo-IdeaPad-Chromebook-Platinum…

  • bargain: a thing bought or offered for sale more cheaply than is usual or expected

    This ain't one.

Chromebook Duet at $357 (it has been lower than this) even now is cheaper, more recent and much, much, better than this
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Lenovo-Ideapad-Chromebook-CT-X636F…

    The Duet has:
convertible - detachable tablet, stand, keyboard
    4x the storage
    2x the CPU cores
    touchscreen
    brighter screen
    pen digitiser
    lighter weight
    probably twice the battery life
years more of support through automated updates (Jun 2028 instead of 2026)

Wouldn't this chromebook do better than the one listed above? It has bigger screen (11 vs 14 inch), touchscreen support and larger storage than the thing. It is also more cheaper than it.

    • The HP model you linked at JB It is better than the Duet if you prefer the laptop form factor, (and bigger screen/keyboard) it will be better to use on your lap as well.
