Steel frame. Probably weighs about 20kg. Good luck especially on hills. Terrible buy.

Buying to only ride with my 8 year old son on flat surface away from our home. Hopefully it will hold up.

        Then why this boat-anchor?
You can get a much lighter non-folding for the same price.

If you must have folding, get this one: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/fortis-urban-traveller-20-foldi…
Only $20 more, but folds smaller and a lot lighter.

Needed folding so I can go to parks which can be many km’s away. I did think of the 20inch but it felt too small.

          • @TomGum: No need to fold if wheels have quick release - wheels off and virtually any bike will fit in the boot.

            • @sheikyerbouti: POV: A bigger boot owner.

              • @pizzaguy: Unless a bike has a rear rack or large mudguards, it will fit in a small hatchback with the wheels off.
If you fold down the rear seat, you just need to remove the front wheel.

You soon get used to riding a 20" bike. It may not win races, but neither will the 26" above.

        • Can you please suggest a lighter non-folding one for about the price ?

I've got this. You're 100% correct. Really heavy. Creaks a lot at the joints. But it's alright for going to the shops and back. Definitely not for serious cycling.

Have bought 2 of this for my partner and I from previous deals. Able to fit both inside the car boot without using bike racks. Been holding up for more than 3 months now.

I've bought this. Its very very heavy. Took me a solid minute to get this into my trunk. Eventually sold it and got a 20'' one

  • just wait till its $129 again snd use kigan first for free delivery

    • I had Kogan First. It’s never had discounted or free delivery at $129.

As a bicycle mechanic for almost 4 years, Please don't buy this. Its not worth the headaches and servicing you'll need to fix broken parts.. If you're really tight on budget, huffy at BIG W (last resort). Kmart's bikes would be in between the two. But I wouldn't spend a doller on either of the 3 I've stated. Won't last a year if you're planning to ride 10-20km a week.

But if you're the once a month rider, go for it

Would you mind recommending a decent bike for me to use for riding with my young kids and for general exercise / knee rehabilitation? Is Anaconda, Decathlon etc. Okay?

      • Anaconda actually has decent ones prices fairly. The Fluid momentum is a good starter with 27.5" wheels and good enough groupsets to start with. They sometimes go down to 399 or less. But IMO, I'd say a Giant Roam is the perfect family bike. Try getting a second hand one on gumtree / fb marketplace. Do your research before buying anything though, and you could snag one for dirt cheap.

        • Thx. I was looking for a decent (on budget around 150 to 200) hybrid bike for general exercise/with kids riding n came across to this https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/fortis-700c-urban-hybrid-road-b….

          Any suggestion pls? Thx heaps.

@bargainisg8: Looks to be almost identical to Kmart's hybrids. They usually all come out of the same factory in china anyways with different stickers.

            https://www.kmart.com.au/product/70cm-copenhagen-urban-bike/….

I've had 2-3 of the kmart bikes in and the usual problem is with the wheelset. The tend to get buckled easily due to cheap / incorrect spoke tensions as well as very weak axles (and bearings) which cause the brakes to ware out fast. Again, if you're a once or twice a month rider, it should do the job.

Get it assembled at a some what experienced local bike shop so all the proper adjustments are made onto it. (gears, brakes and correct tensions on the nuts and bolts)

            *edit:

The $10 difference is the rear in the kmart have v-brakes while kogan has disc brakes front and rear. IMO either one is fine

            • @Deals4Days: Thanks heaps. Any other decent hybrid/road bike u recommend around 200 pls?

              • @bargainisg8: If you could score a Giant Roam 1/2/3 (2015-present), second hand of course, that would be perfect. Maybe even around 250 would be fair and be great value. But then again, you'll have to watch out for wear of chains, cassettes, pads, wheels.

Do your due diligence in research when buying second hand and it will definately pay off.

                All the best

  • Looks like price has jumped to $199 even with Kogan First. I’ll mark it as expired.

Foldable Mountain bike hahahah. One jump, one bump and the bike won't be the only thing folding in half 😂😂
