Roku Gin 700ml $46.15 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Coles Online (Excludes QLD, TAS)

220

T&Cs 1

Currently on sale at Liquorland for $56. But if you order via Coles Online, you automatically get $10 off your $50-or-more spend, bringing it to $46, plus the 15¢ that all Coles Online orders add for the reusable bag.

Be warned: Coles Online is fairly bad at updating their real-time inventory and there have been multiple reports of out-of-stock notifications/order cancellations just before the pick-up time for the previous Coles Online deal I posted.

Credit to as01 for the original deal.

Lesson learnerd from past deal stay away from coles online waste of time n pathetic customer service

I agree with those complaints. The online ordering, the stock counting, and the late cancellations are all very poor and enough to validate anyone for avoiding a retailer with these issues.

Having said that, the best liquor deals I've gotten in the last year have been from Coles online. I'm regularly getting quality scotches and gins for ~$35-45, good beer slabs for <$40, and decent "drink-now" wine for $8-15. I've learnt the online ordering well enough now to avoid bugs, and I've endured maybe 2-3 poor ordering outcomes out of about a dozen. I'm still finding value here.

Thanks OP! I was just running out of Roku - it's my neat gin 👍

      • Same here, you get used to websites routine hoops to jump. The best outright deals have been from coles online (not a fan of cashback/flybuys promos as they are hit&miss for me)
Ordered a Loch Lomond original for $40 - one of my favourite budget single malts for everyday use - incidentally maximising the discount % for this offer!

        • +1

Same. Put through a second order to try the Loch Lomond, haven't had this single malt

          • @muwu: How do you order the Loch Lomond - if I take 1 bottle I don't get the discount.
I can see the discount when I order 2 bottles - but that's not maximizing the discount though.

I also tried ordering 1 with other groceries to go above $50 - but also then no $10 discount.

            • +1

@johnmelb: There's a blend ($40) and a single malt ($50). One of the single malt should be automatically discounted to $40 once you've reached checkout. If not, check the single price isn't <$50 for you.

              • @muwu: Thanks, didn't see the $50 one yesterday. I better check I get the single malt when I pick it up.

Yup. Had booked a time for pickup on carton and was told to come back the next day because no one there at the time had an RSA….

      • their refunding service for OOS items is also a shitshow i found

I have some reconcilation to do on a lot of past orders!

  • Unavailable

You may need to trial-and-error different pick-up times (especially after 12pm) and maybe different stores. I've had pretty consistent success with one in my area close to me for 12-2pm pick-ups.

      • Thanks OP. For some reason it was set to WA.

Have reset to NSW but came up with unavailable and now no liquor products will come up when I search. Can find via liquorland but is $56

      • 12-2pm is what I put too on the next available date, making it the next available slot for alcohol pickup automatically. Then you can pickup even late, say after work.
Source: zero cancellations, have picked up even a day after. Ymmw depending on which store.

        • Finally got there - but all my available time slots are all unattended which means you can’t order alcohol through them.

What a disaster! Oh well. Don’t need it anyway 😂

@michaelb94: The store needs to have a liqourland next to it for it to get online orders. Not sure if that makes any different from the website. You need all common sense you can have to make that website work

            • +2

@WhatsTheBigDeal: Yes mine does… the issue is the delivery times are all unattended. It won’t appear for click and collect.

Oh well… saves me money! Thanks for trying to help

            • +1

@WhatsTheBigDeal: First choice liquor also counts, and increases alcohol stocking at the store significantly.

Figured one thing out with Coles online, pay that extra $2-6 bucks for delivery and all orders have been fulfilled. Muck around with click and collect then you are at the stores mercy! Just my two bobs after over a dozen orders.

    • Sadly, not true. Delivery orders can go OOS: it all depends on stock on delivery day (or night before, for morning deliveries).

  • FYI it works on many other spirits as well.
    Eg. Glenlivet12 for $55, Glenmorengie10 for $60, Ardbeg10 for $79, JW double black $45, Loch Lomond Original for $40!

  • Am I the only one where this automatic discount doesn't work?
I saw a deal another day too - but doesn't work, I'm at checkout and the price remains the same.

I'm assuming you have to see it before you click the green "complete order".

    • after refreshing twice, now I get $10 discount … buggy site

  • I think they caught on; says 'temporarily unavailable' now :/

    • It depends on your store selected. Probably stock ran out in your particular store

      • Nah the link isn't working anymore either. Or is it just for me?

  • Also, link no longer working :(

    • Works for me still. shop.coles URL is blocked by many vpns, try bypassing it if you have.
Mine can be showing cached page - so dunno for sure
Edit: rephrasing, shop.coles is blocked by coles servers if you are accessing it with a VPN for some aussie vpn providers.

  • Ok I give up; Coles is just impossible to deal with! There's a Liquorland right next to ths Coles but for some reason it won't all me to pick up from my Coles 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Save your angst, effort, time and go Costco,

$53.99 - all year round, (ofc membership applies)

good drop from famous Suntory stables of good distillery.

    side note:
Toki is another good drop to try, https://www.suntory.com/brands/toki/

    • +1

Dan Murphy has it for $1 more. Considering its membership is free and stores available probably 20 times more than Costco’s- I’d say $1 is more than justified.

      • And with 5% discounted dan murphy gift cards DM is cheaper too …

  • 15 cents for a plastic bag ?! What happened to the paper bags ? Must be a cost cutting exercise - bugger the environment.

    • yeah they are still forcing paid bags on us,

  • Does the Loch Lomond Original have any peat to it? hate peat.

  • Thanks Op, grabbed one. Surprisingly I had 4 x 6 pack of James Squire in my cart for $0… so apparently tomorrow morning I'm getting this bottle of Gin with a slab of 150 lashes for $50 delivered. Not sure why but I'll take it. :D
