Surfing gear

Hi I'm relatively new to surfing and i was wondering where do people buy their surf gear? either online (australian or overseas) or in stores.

  • I buy legropes, wax and boardcovers from www.squid.net.au. If you get on their e-mail list they post specials at the start of every month. Last week I bought from Surfstitch for the first time and they delivered very quick. Surfstitch has 20% off at the moment if you search Ozbargain. I buy my surfboards from 3p who are located in Newcastle (where I live). They have a website 3psurfboards.com. If you are prepared to drive to Newy then you can get a "custom-made" board around $100-$200 cheaper than an "off the rack" board in a surf shop.
I have always bought my wetsuits from a local surf shop as "fit" is more important than a bargain.

Surfing is an awesome sport so get into it.
