the travel dates are up to June next year

      • Who knows how long all of this is going to go for, bet this time last year a lot of people thought it would be over by now heh

        • Don't know why you got neged, I thought we would be able to travel now last year this time but haven't been able to meet my gf for a month now due to lockdown.

Have just had to request a refund for my NZ trip - they have been an absolute nightmare to deal with; 2-3 hour wait times, multiple calls, their staff on the phone are constantly trying to get you to go for a Qantas credit (instead of refund due to their flight cancellations) and “up to 8 weeks” processing if you do push on for a refund… and this is one of the best airlines we have too!

The only way I’d do this again is if I were booking a short notice trip (within a week or so), just pack and go!

    • just to clarify, this note is with regards to Qantas directly, not the OP

agree in that I'm also trying to get a refund and it's a nightmare. FF forums have people on hold for 8+ hours. On the other hand, the staff there are people too and without hiring hundreds(?) more, delays are going to continue, especially with border openings/closures and bubbles bursting. It's frustrating as heck.

Credit is their preference as it's money for them - a refund you may go elsewhere, but the ACCC is keeping an eye on this as it's the top complaint in the last year or so, so be sure to know your rights.

    • Sorry to hear, did you book direct through Qantas? My experience was quite good actually, login and choose cancel on their website very easy, I believe money has been refunded about 6 or 7 weeks after cancellation(paid with paypal so always got email to notify), have done that kind cancellation 2 times since May.

With what's happening with covid they should offer 20x times the points..

  • If you book a Qantas Economy Class or Business Class Classic Rewards Flight and pay with points, do you earn any points on that flight?

  • Why bother ?
I’ve had one QF holiday canceled- that was Perth in two weeks, I have another in late Aug to Adelaide that I’m expecting to be canceled as well

There really is no point booking flights … I booked mine thinking that we could easily go somewhere,,, we’ll that quickly changed.

2022… maybe… and maybe not. It’s easier to drive to a destination
