Read speed 100MB/s, Writes less than 20MB/s. May or may not be for you depending on usage.

I have a 32GB version of this model SDCZ48. Writing speed sucks. A SanDisk rep on Amazon US confirmed that this model is optimized for reading, not for writing.

Hmm, according to camelcamelcamel this has been the normal price since April, and it hasn't sold for the "full" price in over a year. Also the 256gb model is 41.77 which is the same cost per gb as this one, but not marked as being on sale. I am tempted to get the next size up but do I really need double the space?

I would recommend you get this one instead for the speed increase and build quality. Amazon AU is currently out but had stock earlier for $58. Memoski also has stock on Amazon AU but it's too $$$

      • Phew, you saved me from making a bad decision

        • See my reply to cute.

For 58 bucks you may as well get a SSD with a $5 USB 3.0 adapter. Write speeds will be near 500.

@mckayver: That's actually what I'm using but it looks janky haha

          • +1

@mckayver: most people looking at this product, the size/form factor far outweighs write speed

      • $58 at Umart for C&C https://www.umart.com.au/Sandisk-128GB-Extreme-Pro-USB-3-1-F…

Doesn't seem worth though. ~50% more expensive for half the storage. Aliexpress/Banggood sometimes have 256GB 3.1/3.2 for around $40.

Slow and not a deal sorry

If anyone missed this, here's an alternative https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B017RD11JQ ($0.01 cheaper)

  • I've got this one as a tertiary backup to a work laptop, write speed is a tad slow (just backing up Office/Adobe files).

    • I would backup my work to Dropbox, Google, OneDrive rather than these unreliable flash drives.

  • For some reason I was just charged $5.99.

  • Back in stock just ordered one

  • Transfer a full length movie in less than 40 seconds

That statement is just useless - 90 minute cartoon, 3 hour blockbuster, DVD rip, 4K remux? Size could be anything between 800MB to 80GB.

  • These are crap anyway, the slide mechanism is annoying to use. Just get one with a lid.
