Half Price Quickflix [DVD+BR] for 2 Months $11.48/Month

10

I was offered this 50% off deal when cancelling my 2 months free trial that was started from a coupon over the 2011 Xmas Break, I'm sure a lot of people are using this and possibly renewing the server, however click cancel instead of renewing and you'll be offered this much more attractive offer.

what a coincidence i did the same and was offered the same yesterday! except i really did cancel, they tried to sneak in the $13 setup fee! if that fee was dropped yes i would have gone with the offer

    • Yeah this is pretty low, I can't see the harm in dropping the set up fee, clearly it is already set up.

  • This is the standard customer retention offer. Not special, not a bargain.

    • Yes it is for the purpose of customer retention, but it is a bargain, 50% off.

  • Have a look over here on another forum, where there seems to be alot of complaints about very long wait times and high demand for alot of the most popular and new titles. Looks like they don't seem to have many copies of these titles.

    • a gave up on them a while ago, they never sent out the dvds in the correct order of my list. very long waits for popular new movies. i just go to the local dvd store on tuesdays & pay $2 for a new release, so much easier. cancelling was a hassle too!

    • Not worth the money.

We had the free trial, but I agree they are incredibly slow to deliver, so my family call them SlowFlix. It takes them up to a week to register that you've sent DVDs back and then up to a further week to get new ones out to you.

So on a cost per DVD basis, it makes the normal price incredibly inflated compared to the local shop, mostly because of the slow delivery. You end up paying about $20 a month once out of any incentive schemes, and only get about 3-4 DVDs if lucky.

Also based on the lack of ability to choose, you will be much better off with the local video shop.

The only way I could conceive of to get more than 3 DVDs a month would be to rip them and then send them back the next day, deleting the rips when watched.

      • By the way, the Blu-rays cost extra…
