    I'm working on the basis that a physical copy of 1 book would set me back $30, so much the same for 54 digitally is worth a shot.

  What ebook reader works with these? Kindle paperwhite previous edition is crap with comics

    Typically you'll get PDFs and CBR/CBZ

    PDFs work on almost everything (but as you say, crappy experience on Kindles and most eInk readers)

    CBR/CBZ can be read by comic book reader apps on mobile or computer (or even an Oculus)
