Oculus Quest 2 128GB Model to Replace Base 64GB Model at Same Price

I just read that Facebook has pulled the Oculus Quest 2 from sale because of some skin irritation issues and issuing a replacement face insert. Even more interesting is that when they plan to start selling again (by the 24th August) they will be listing a new 128GB Quest 2 device for the same price as the old 64GB model.

Had noticed that prices on the 64GB had skyrocketed on Amazon, and the 256GB model was actually cheaper than the 64GB. Ha.

There's a little corner of my brain that is thinking there may be a tie in with Microsoft's upcoming release of Flight Sim 2020 on the Xbox One…. and they will do a casual "one more thing" announcement about VR, but maybe wishful thinking.

    Was there a question?

No question other than the Xbox VR possibility in my the back of my mind. Scrimshaw's title edit is much better than mine.

I think the OP just wanted to announce that there's a higher capacity model that's going to release soon so hold off buying the base 64GB model.

    • Thanks, that is indeed a better worded title and I was actually going to edit it myself after rereading the engadget article.

  • Flight Sim will come to PS5 before it ever has anything to do with Facebook.

  • I think your going crazy. I suspect it’s just an off schedule refresh. Not that 64 gig isn’t enough space already.

    • I come from the future.
