Coles Gift Vouchers

Question for the Wise Ones

Are there any hacks to make Coles gift cards, purchased through Comm Bank credit card points in their Awards programme, more efficient?

I bought these Coles gift cards, only to find I can’t use them for online shopping, and they suggest you print them off or scan from the PDF on your phone. I tried using them to buy a Coles gift card in store, but I it would not go through the system. I don’t usually shop at Coles but thought this would make good use of the accumulated reward points, and I bought them expecting to use them for online groceries. Now I’m not using them because I don’t go to Coles very often and it takes me so long to find the file in my phone….and I can’t even waste them up at Liquorland because that’s not allowed either. (I know it’s a first world problem!)
Cheers :)

Yeah Coles gift cards are a PITA. I do surveys and always opt for the Woolies cards, far more convenient being able to store them in the app and use via barcode.

Yes, Coles does not allow the use of their GC for online shopping, unlike Woolworths. I have used them to purchase the pre-loaded Coles Mastercard and these can be used widely. There is a fee, so you wait if you can for one of their 10% off deals where you actually get them at a discount. You can also use them to buy other 3rd party GC's such as eBay or Swap. I print them off to do this. You have 3 years to use them. Next time maybe get the Woolies ones, if you can and they do not expire.

Thanks JIMB0 - I’ve seen the app, but how do I add the gift card and what does it allow me to do?

Add it as other card. Put the balance as the name and a photo of the pin as the icon. Update the balance manually after use.

Naam you can put it on Googlepay, you just need to know what number to put in of where it begins. Tip check your balance on the normal desktop site and enter the required number, should be the same as Gpay.

    • Thanks jes - if it’s on Google Pay, can I use it for online groceries?
