Electrical Smart Switches That Are Legal to Use in AU

Hi all, I was looking to buy zigbee smart switches and wondering if these BlitzWolf ones are legal to use in AU. tried looking into electrical appliance certifications but ended up getting more confused thru that endeavor. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

read this thread as well but didnt find any zigbee devices.

That's all you need to know

    • They are specifically asking about legal to use.

I don’t think you can have confidence in items from Banggood with regard to AU certifications.
I would probably start with amazon.com.au to find any brands that claim local certification, then try and find them elsewhere for cheap.
Also be aware that a local importer might have had items sold on AliExpress or banggood certified for here, but they won’t apply the certifications to other seller’s stock.

I would also ask to see copies of the certification before I bought.

    • Ahh, right. would you happen to know what certification in specific should I be looking for in regards to electrical installations?

  • Meecator Ikuu zigbee - very well priced & local.

    • Thanks, just checked these out and it seems these need the whole switch assembly replacement. I was looking to add a zigbee relay to my existing switches.

    • Never mind, found them

  • I read somewhere Shelly switches are AU standards certified.

    • Yeah, I was going to buy the shelly switches but thought its worth checking if a good zigbee version is available to help keep the number of wifi devices down.
