Woolworths Rewards - Is it Possible to Get Rid of an Activated Promotion?

I've activated a promo within the rewards app that gives you 5x points on your shop until end of august as long as you make it defer any money you get in reward until xmas.

At first I thought cool, this will be great. But then I've realised that this overrides any other promos. eg: if there's a promo for 500 points on chicken mince, I don't get that, I get 5x points which is way way way less. this is a bit silly really.

Can I deactivate a promo like this?

if there's a promo for 500 points on chicken mince, I don't get that

Maybe wait for a few days before you come to a conclusion. Also check T&Cs again.

    • This is how it is. I get the points instantly, and even online it shows how many points I'll get. It seems that this xmas thing is a 'master override' offer.

Some bonus pts are awarded later while some are instant. Just copy and paste terms from some offers I got recently for Woolies or Big W.

When will I get my points?
Your points will be loaded instantly to your Everyday Rewards Card after your qualifying shop in each week.

When will I get my points?
Your points will be loaded to your Everyday Rewards Card within 3 business days after your qualifying shop in each week.

When will I get my points?
Your points can take up to 7 business days from the date of purchase to be loaded onto your Everyday Rewards Card.

      • The T&C's in the email are a little fuzzy.

"… 5x points equals 1 (one) standard Everyday Rewards point and 4 (four) additional Everyday Rewards points. If eligible for multiple points boosters, only 1 (one) standard Everyday Rewards point can be collected once for all eligible points boosters, plus the applicable number of bonus points… "

To switch between this 5x offer and 'normal' go to' Account' (lower right) in the Rewards app and 'Choose how you're rewarded'. It looks like it can be flipped on and off.

… Or just ask Woolies exactly how it works with your example.

  • Just don't buy chicken mince until after Christmas

    • just don't buy WOOLIES chicken mince. Coles is better anyway

If there is one thing you NEVER buy at Coles, it's fresh chicken. Sooooooo many bad experiences there.

        • EVER buy at Coles, it's fresh chicken. Sooooooo many bad experiences there.

Whole Chicken or prepack piece/mince or from the deli? or all of these?

          • @SF3: Pre-cut chicken pieces or mince … whether prepacked or from the deli. Never again, my friend.

        • As opposed to stale chicken, which is clucked. lol

        • really ? I've never had any bad experiences at either coles or woolies. If you keep having issues with the same store, then that's a systemic issue with that particular store. Have you raised it with them? Food poisoning from chicken is a serious thing, I doubt they have issues like you're describing.

is it how you're storing/transporting it? If it's in a warm car for 3 hours after you buy it, and then you use it a week later……

          • @coffeeinmyveins:

            really ?

            Yes. Really.

Never had any trouble with Woolies chicken.

I doubt they have issues like you're describing

OK, but the smell that has arisen from opening chicken purchased from Coles on a number of occasions would say otherwise.

This includes chicken that was purchased same day and well within "best before" dates.

If it's in a warm car for 3 hours after you buy it, and then you use it a week later

Thanks, but I am aware of how to handle cold items.

  • switch out of xmas it will deactivate it according to the T&C

    • yep done that, cheers. see how it goes.

  • I also switched to 'Bank for Christmas' and have received both the x5 points and also the booster points. Received the booster points for 3 out of 3 items and plus the x5 points on the entire shop.
Are you certain that the mince size you purchased was as specified in the booster conditions? Eg. I sometimes get boosters for mince, however they are for specific weights ie 500g or 1kg. Then I also have to check whether it stipulates whether it is regular mince or lean mince as well.
