Which OzBargainer Crashed Their Camry Recently

Pretty well sums up ozbargain automotive forum in a 40 second video.

A dashcam in a WRX captures an overzealous Camry driver narrowly avoiding a Tesla.

Surprised not to see new forum post…

"Tesla driver forced my Camry off the road. I only have third party. Need advise"

YouTube comments are worthy of a read.

Can you please draw an mspaint diagram, I'm unable to watch youtube at work.

Thank you. It seems quite clear the Tesla is at fault. Case closed.

      • Best NFT of the yr.

  • Camry driver was playing chicken with the Tesla. Telsa driver barely flinched!

    • +1

Tesla driver probably had sun in eyes - Tesla (semi)auto pilot probably hit the brakes.

      • Autopilot/auto steer wouldn’t have been able to be engaged in this case. There’s no lines on the road. That Tesla was being manually driven when driver put the car to the far side of the road. If there was a safety feature engaged it might be auto breaking but I wonder if car would have known there was imminent collision without lines?

          Braking
Sorry, just a pet hate of mine.

  • Would love to see the Tesla cam POV.

No doubt we'll find out shortly from the next forum post:

Car accident. Toyota Camry. No insurance. Was driving normally. What do I do?
Hi everyone, I was driving normally down a country lane when I had to swerve to avoid hitting a Telsa who was all over the road, so i drove into a ditch. My car is damaged and I have no insurance. How can I get the Tesla driver to pay as they clearly are better off than me and I've done nothing wrong.

  • That little dip around the bend stuffed toyota up. Slow down

    • +3

That was his problem. Instead of braking /slowing down he should have accelerated through the corner.

      • +3

Its a Camry. There's a brake pedal and a 'push to go just a little bit faster' pedal.

      • +1

        when in doubt, power out
        .

      • Would have went out wide and straight into the Tesla instead.

Give how narrow it is, best to not brake or accelerate, I reckon.

    • No he driving like an douche in a car that will cause accidents even when parked.

      • Ouch. Did you once get beaten at a drag race by a Camry? No question about some douche driving like an idiot.

But yea, not about the second part.

        • +1

Nope but it's a weekly occurrence that I to avoid a Camry crashing into me.

Look any videos on dash cam channel, half Toyota's and of those mostly Camry doing something absolutely idiotic, just like in this video…

          • @Bid Sniper: To be fair though, Toyota has the largest market share out of all brands in Australia at 22%, with the next closest being Mazda at 9.3%, so you’ll see more Toyota’s than any other single brand whether they’re driving at you or not.

  • Inexperience + FWD = that

    • +12

Plus the shifting weight of the tissue box on the parcel shelf would have got the Camry all out of shape.

      • +7

But this would have been counter balanced by the panama hat on the other side of the parcel shelf. No excuse here.

    • Looks like lift off oversteer, usually see a WRX or RWD car (eg Mustang) do that. He manged to do it in Camry.

I'm not even mad, I'm impressed

      • +1

Hitting the brakes then kicking the wheel right then left didn't help… ;)

  • +1

First comment I saw was ‘invisible field around Tesla pushed it into the ditch’.

    it’s magnets and stuff.

Shame he didn’t swipe the Tesla, would have been written off and parts sent for EV conversions.

    • +1

Camry driver had their covid jab and it made them repel the Tesla

      • +1

Because the Camry couldn’t handle the 5G while the Tesla can?

  • +1

All that clip was missing was that ‘You can’t park there, sir’ guy (https://youtu.be/fkjnafI9Al8)…
That would have been the icing on this cake.

Probably on his way to ask Dr Proctor where he's jerky is.

Dirt roads dangerous, turning a corner the back of my car hit the dirt, the car went sidesway a bit, but was able to stay on the road.

    scary.

Go what ever speed you feel comfortalbe, on winding roads i travel 10km less

    • +1

Go what ever speed you feel comfortalbe

Ummm….No. learn how to drive and drive to conditions or speed limits. I feel comfortable driving much faster than I should.

      • -2

Nope btw no road rage okay

  • Seriously, trying to play catch me with a WRX in a Camry?

Well Camry driver won, WRX driver didnt follow there…

  • I saw a WRX run hard up the ass of a truck. Waiting to see a post from a crying WRX owner asking how to blame the truck. :-)

    • Dibs on gearbox

  • M… a nut case driving a Camry… would the comments be different had the same idiot been hooning in an EJ25 and subsequently crash?

I drive a camry too, well, kinda, a rear wheel drive 2GR… doesn't mean I need to drive like a nutter.

TBH, had that idiot be driving a rear wheel drive, would have probably be dead by now.

I probably see more GTi (Golf or Polo) driving like a dxck these days in the mindset that they are driving like Ricciardo. Esp at the lights…

  • Does this guy have no idea how to drive or do camery's really handle that poorly?

    • C. All of the above

  • Could of easily been avoided with a set a quality tyres like the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Wouldn't of even lost traction at all. Although MPSS on a Camry probably is overkill, so I'd advise upgrading the vehicle to match the better tyres.

    Easily avoidable.

    fail kansei dorifto..

  • Mr Camry is a bad driver. He put himself in the ditch.

  • “Oh what a feeling” (afterwards from the soiled underpants)

  • Well, I think we all know who the driver of the Tesla was… :D Just gonna go check if they liked any “brown pants” deals recently…

  • +2

    Maybe this was involved.
