  I bought the lightning cable version of this, that red cable support near the plug is solid plastic and not flexible at all.

  Which means the plus is like 30mm of solid non-flexible plastic… the cable works ok but it's pretty annoying.

    I'm guessing also can be a good thing. By having extended reinforcing it may stop wire damage at the plug and handle abuse and last longer.

  I bought a grey set about a month ago off Amazon and returned them because they were not fast charge, your experience might be different but all 3 cables could not fast charge my s10
