The Balvenie 14yo Carribean Cask is down to $100 at First Choice Liquor. Oddly, doesn't appear it's a sale price? A quick search across other retailers has this at the usual $120 - $130 price.

A tasty drop finished in casks that held rum to give it an extra hit of sweetness alongside this classic Speyside spirit character. A staple in my cabinet, and an easy buy at this price point.

Shopback has 10% cashback at the moment to sweeten the deal, and if a store isn't close/convenient to you there's a free delivery over $50 deal on as well using code FREEDEL50

Edit 5/8 6pm: although marked expired and back to $145 online, still ticketed at $100 at my local first choice as of Thursday 5/8 evening

Still got half my bottle from the ~$87 price error - great drop, definitely recommend at this price

    • My bottle from that banger of a deal is long gone! :)

  • How do you rate this against the Double Wood, (which I thought was excellent)?

The 12yo DoubleWood is great, but the 14yo Carribean Cask is better. The 17yo DoubleWood though, omg, one of the best scotch I've ever had.

This is on master of malt for 89.xx right now

    • 89.xx plus shipping plus taxes. You'll be paying a lot more than the $100 here.

e.g. checked MoM - shipping ~$40, then you'll be paying ~$26 in excise, import duties, plus GST (which is applied on top of the purchase price/duty/excise/shipping & insurance costs!). All of a sudden that headline price from MoM doesn't look so attractive!

Buying whisky from overseas is usually only worth it for a bottle you cannot source in Australia.

Right. Didn’t know that thanks. Just did a search online for competitor prices, I actually did check it was in aud that was about the extent of my “research”. My bad 👍

  • Always wanted to try this.

    Bought. Thanks OP.

Doesn't look like DM even show this on their site anymore.

  • Showing $145 for me— Queensland.

  • SOB saw this last night and forgot to buy :( back to $145 now :(
    Thanks OP good find.

  • What a bargain @ $100 if RRP is $145 at FC!

    Wonder why the huge discount?

  • May be worthwhile visiting your local. Still ticketed at $100 at mine as of 6pm 5/8.
