Here it is - Tanzania Marangu Cooperative Certified Organic Espresso, already discounted from $60/kg to $30/kg no need to wait until 3pm…

      Single Origin Espresso

Incredibly sweet, with vibrant red apple and ripe cherry notes.
Tasting Notes : Molasses, Red Apple, Black Cherry

The Marangu Cooperative provides a communal coffee processing station for local smallholder farmers to sell their coffee to. The smallholder farmers on Mt Kilimanjaro grow small plots of coffee trees alongside other crops such as bananas and cassava, which helps subsidise their income in the off-season. Intercropping plants like bannana and coffee also provides perfect natural shade cover for the coffee trees.

The coffee at the Marangu Cooperative is wet processed then sent to the Rafiki Mill in Moshi for dry processing and sorting before it is shipped.

The Marangu Cooperative coffee is incredibly dense and sweet with a thick molasses mouthfeel and notes of red apple and ripe black cherry.

      Region: Mt Kilimanjaro
      Altitude: 1800-2200 MASL
      Varietal: Colombia, Kent
      Process: Washed

Tasting notes: Molasses, Red Apple, Black Cherry

    • Check it now, it it listed now

Recently bought the Roosevelt (blend)and Columbian single origin from them - fantastic coffee.
    Shipping was fast to Brisbane.
They missed something in the order, but were super quick to shoot that item straight out to me.
    Great customer service

    • +1

      i really enjoy columbian coffee

  • +2

What's the roast* date on it and can you store these for 4-6 weeks ? 1 KG is bit too much for a single person like me

  • Went to order via PayPal, but it is trying to charge me $35? When the main cart is showing $30 + free shipping?

Edit: It's trying to charge $5 shipping to Brisbane.

Edit2: Shipping has updated to free, successfully ordered! Thanks OP.

  • Hi OP, don't have a grinder at home, is espress grind not an option?

    • +2

Espresso grind option is available now.

      • Just ordered. Thank you!

  • Any chance on delay?

I'm finishing up previous order still…

I second RDY4ME. They have excellent coffee and service. I personally am stoked to discover this roastery as I live within walking distance.

Which grind size works for an expresso machine?

    • I always have to change my grind with any new beans

    • About a 7

    • Out of curiosity, at a setting of 8, is the ground coffee produced from Breville Smart Grinder Pro different from say, Bodum or Sunbeam?

    • i use around 12 with breville burr grinder. then i monitor how much time it takes me to get 36 grams of liquid. it should be around 25-30 seconds. then i adjust to more fine if it is brewing to fast, and more coarse if it is taking too long to brew.

      • Yes, I'm about a 12-13 on the breville

  • Would this be suitable for filter v60?

    • do you have a grinder? get a burr grinder, its a game changer. if not, go for a medium to fine grind.

      • Yep I do. Just wonder if these espresso blends are suitable for filter or not. I can adjust grind size no problem

  • Cheers OP.

  • what a great offer. just ordered. thanks

Good experience with Inglewood. We like Sunset (espresso machine) and recently had good experience with Roosevelt - particularly in a stovetop (espresso too). Happy to give this a try (even though we're struggling to get through a backlog of good stuff). Thanks guys!

  • Dunno about the sweetness in the tasting notes but gotta try new things

    KG ordered.

  • +1

Thanks OP! 1kg ordered. Will this be standard shipping or express? Hoping for standard this time actually (Still going through previous order)…

  • Ordered - thanks OP great deal

  • +3

Are these beens any good for milk based coffee?

  • Hey guys just decided to make the switch from instant coffee and bought a Bialetti Moka pot. Which type of grind is recommend? Thanks!

    • Stovetop

    • coarser then espresso, so a medium or medium/fine grind.

  • Is this a similar coffee to Kenya AA? My wife is from (neighbouring) Kenya and we miss it.

  • Hi there what is the best grind for a mocha pot?

  • Is this organic?

  • Can you do pickup?

  • Ordered 1kg to try. Thanks :)

  • Good experience with Inglewood here as well. Sunset Blvd is my favourite.

Question though. Buy beans and grind with cheap grinder vs buy ground? For Aeropress.

I've only bought ground coffee so far because I'm lazy. I go through a 500g bag in about 11 days and find by about the 7th day, the coffee starts getting bitter and acidic, still drinkable though. I have a cheap grinder from Amazon I haven't used yet. Will this do the job?

    • +1

If it's for espresso probably not - grinder tends to be equally or more important than the machine in some setups.

      • Yes American coffee so espresso + full cup of water after. I might experiment a bit with some cheap beans from Colesworth before ordering online.

        • Good espresso is all about freshly roasted freshly ground beans in a decent grinder, many people would argue the machine is of lesser importance. I presume you are using a single wall basket?

          • @blues99: Yes. I might have to budget for a Timemore C2 hand grinder. Appears to be the cheapest acceptable hand grinder.

            • @zah: I have this - recommended for aeropress, filter, pour over but not espresso. I have a second hand mazzer mini with some basic single dose conversions for espresso - can often be had cheap second hand.

            • +1

@zah: If u want to hand grind espresso I recommend this 1Zpresso JX-PRO

              • @blues99: Thank you, I will look into this.

            • @zah: 1zpresso grinders have much better build and grind quality. I started with the Timemore C2, then upgraded to the 1zpresso K-Plus nine months later (was originally planning to get the JX, but an EOFY sale convinced me to splurge).

(here's my review of the C2 on reddit, if you want the gory details: https://www.reddit.com/r/Coffee/comments/oavcac/timemore_c2_…)

              • @6e23: Agree K-plus definitely better but hard to justify upgrade if not doing espresso no?

                • +1

@blues99: I only do v60 or aeropress, actually. Definitely noticed an improvement in brew consistency after getting the K-Plus.
