Many know us as a wetsuit brand. When the pandemic started last year we began making masks and we are proud to say we have been able to keep everyone employed and been able to provide much-needed masks across the country.

HydrophobicEasy Mask

Our most popular mask is the Hydrophobic Easy. These will ship quickly, are inexpensive and have been specifically designed to be worn throughout the day. We use a highly technical breathable single layer of fabric tested to a medical-grade water repellency and an antimicrobial treatment. Best of all they are reusable and protect our environment. They are 100% Australian made in Newcastle.

3 pack - $19.50 ($24.95)
5 pack - $30 ($39.95)
10 pack - $50 ($69.95)

Shipping $10 or free over $100

    Hyrdophobic or Hydrophobic ????

  • +3

SO does the below mean you have no idea if they actually work being single layer and all?

while the fabrics used in creating the Envirus masks have been tested separately and themselves have various characteristics that may be beneficial to protect against infection, or transmission of viruses or diseases, we have not at this stage completed testing of the Envirus masks as a completed product.

    • +7

“May be beneficial”? That’s super vague language. Toilet tissue may be beneficial, why not incorporate that?

      • +1

The benefit is not getting a fine from the cops

    • To be fair, single layer is better than no layer.

  • +1

Single layer of fabric is useless for delta good luck

    • +1

maybe they have excess because everyone buying the triple layer

      • +1

Where is the excess layer ?

    • Put three on. Here you go. Triple layers

    • +4

Was that statement somewhere in that report? I must have missed it because I saw nothing that stated that.

      • +13

It's the standard anti-vaxxer process - make a statement and then include a link, because almost nobody ever goes to see if the link supports the claim or not.

        • -1

          I didn't realise anti-mask == antivax

"Surprisingly, wearing an unwashed single layer t-shirt (U-SL-T) mask while breathing yielded a significant increase in measured particle emission rates compared to no mask, increasing to a median of 0.61 particles/s. The rates for some participants (F1 and F4) exceeded 1 particle/s, representing a 384% increase from the median no-mask value. Wearing a double-layer cotton t-shirt (U-DL-T) mask had no statistically significant effect on the particle emission rate, with comparable median and range to that observed with no mask."

    • +3

"These observations directly demonstrate that wearing of surgical masks or KN95 respirators, even without fit-testing, substantially reduce the number of particles emitted from breathing, talking, and coughing."

Yeah exactly that's why they're used in surgical situations where there could be blood or fluid splatter. But wearing them to stop a virus is beyond laughable, have you read the box? I love how everyone here knows more than a Dr apparently lol, they put a warning on the box because they aren't stupid and don't want to be sued by the cognitive dissonance suffering idiots who will say "but muh mask didn't stop me from getting sick" when in reality they couldn't even read the box they were diving in to because the MSM told them to!

    Ah yes, single-layer.

  • +2

Please buy proper surgical masks that are more effective

    • +2

Agree. Maybe passable if there is NO community spread and you want something light for exercising but with the current state of the virus I think people should be seeking proper surgical type masks. Even upgrade your usual cloth or reusable mask for something a little better quality at the moment, not downgrade to this.

Bare minimum is a level 2 in my opinion. These are good quality, reasonable price and very fast shipping (2 days).

        • "Single-use face masks have specific, limited applications and are designed for use in
procedures that do not require respiratory protection from the airborne transmission
pathway. It is therefore incumbent on users to ensure that appropriate face masks are worn
only for their intended purpose, i.e. to provide barrier protection to minimize mucous
membrane exposure to infectious microbial droplets."

I don't get it. Please explain?

          • +1

@shaybisc: They're saying they don't filter the air as it comes in and stop those particles, it's for stopping you from sneezing on other people etc.

      • +1

If there's no virus why wear a mask at all?

Where the love for another overstocked mask merchant ?

BTW OP you might need to go 90% off .

        • +3

I understand small businesses need to make money but at the risk of public health let's go for quality products that have been 'proven' to be effective

    • +2

And also please add, wear it to cover your nose..I see many out there with mask with nose hanging out…🤬.I feel like all of those should get fines…

      • +2

I saw a hungry jacks employee wear his mask pretty much just covering his chin. I just shake my head and think whats even the point of putting a mask on?

    • -1

More effective in doing what exactly? They're called surgical masks because people in surgery wear them to prevent blood or fluid splatter that might occur during surgery, what they were designed for… To think a mask will stop a virus is a testament to your stupidity and inability to read the box the masks come packaged in…

  • Off cut from making wetsuit?

  • +2

$20 off on $100+ spent on masks? What a rip off. Another Kogan with $25 for sanitiser.

  • This will be a great Christmas present for my family in NSW. Thanks!

Good on you for keeping each staff employed during this pandemic. You get my upvote for that.

    • +4

I'll get my staff to make some snake oil too. Wanna buy to keep them employed?

      • -1

First of all, I never said I would buy it.
Also, would you still say the same if you were one of his staff? Putting food on the table and getting bills paid is probably your concern. No need to be a moron.

  • Guys, always use disposable surgical masks. Cheap and effective. You may get infected trying to clean or reuse your mask.

  • +1

i bet you these are made in china

    • not associated, but am a newcastle scuba diver where sharkskin is located, and has a huge presence.

pretty sure it is all made at beresfield/thornton area (end of the M1)

  • I got a couple masks at the start of covid from this place. They were incredibly hard to breathe in. It felt like trying to breathe through a plastic bag

  • buy Australian-made, they said…
