  I think support both, the light is waterproof, but the power supply and controller is not waterproof.

  I've bought this exact one before and they are not waterproof and dont have that rubbery surface so it doesn't diffuse the leds as well. Mine I also gave a poor review due to every segment being soldered together instead of being a continuous run. This is a pain if you need to cut and use the included joins for making cleaner runs.

For those that have one of these, or similar - how 'bright' can it get? As in, bright enough for use under a canopy in the kitchen or under a canopy on top of study desks? What sort of ambient light value am I expecting to get out of these as a maximum?
