No iTunes Deal Anymore?

Is it just me or has it been more than 2 months now since we had any sales on itune cards ?. I have been waiting and nothing seems to pop up. Itunes sales use to be a monthly thing.

There won't be any more sales going forward most likely due to the transition to the Apple Gift Card encompassing the Apple App Store and normal store into one card. See article here.

Same thing happened in the US and at best they only get $10 bonus offers on single $100 gift cards quite rarely.

    • Oh, i see, thank you for this.

But how else will I pay my ATO fines and avoid jail?

    • What is with the pre-order tonight?

All over red rover. There goes my 20% off Netflix, iCloud, Apple Music and AC +.

  • Thanks for the replies, now i know why. I have not been keeping up with the news.

  • Yeah im running low on iTunes Credit. Used to stock up on the 20% off deals. Havent seen that in what seems like 18 months.

    • You been missing out, office works would price beat Coles ect so near 20% off, I would ring and to do it and get free delivery.

  • Oh my. This is bad news. My Itunes credits are low.

  • All my credits ran out few months ago. Feel so dirty paying full price for the subscriptions.

    • depending on what you subscribe to , and how much you're willing to stuff around with vpn, youtube and spotify have really good rates with family plans.

      YouTube - India
      Spotify - join a family
      Netflix - Turkey/Argentina

  • I might check at Costco today. They may have discounts over there.

    • I heard that Costco stopped selling App Store & iTunes gift cards a few weeks ago, and they do not stock the unified Apple gift cards.

      No harm in checking though.

As others have pointed out, the App Store & iTunes gift cards have been discounted in Australia for nearly a month now, and I have noticed in the last week Coles and Woolworths replacing all the App Store & iTunes gift cards with Apple gift cards.

If you need to get your hands on discounted Apple gift cards, I know of three discounted gift card portals that stock them. You can find more information on the dedicated discounted gift card page.

Portal Discount or Cashback (%) Payment Method Additional Notes
ShopBack 4 Visa, Mastercard, ShopBack cashback balance No upfront discount, only cashback. Prepaid Visa/Mastercards accepted
Reward Gateway 5 Visa, Mastercard, AMEX Card fees range from 0-3%, depending on the type of card used.
Redeem Your Gift Card 6 Bank Transfer Listed as iTunes Store card, but it is actually an Apple gift card. $1 processing fee charged per card.

      discontinued

  • I used to price match 15% itunes card at OW when they were on sale

Well if no card discounts then will subscribe directly with providers and sack apple subscriptions where that option exists. Now nil incentive to use Apple as a payment channel.

  • $10 of $50 from Latitude pay at JB.
Which is 20% off, not bad.

  • Merged from Whatever Happened to iTunes Gift Card Discounts?

There used to always be 15-20% off sales on iTunes gift cards. Feels like I haven't seen one in a long time. Are they no longer a thing?

Aren't they replaced by Apple GC? So people were fire selling the iTunes GC before?

Do you have an ATO bill due?

      • When they ask, “Are you being scammed?” simply reply, “Only by the government.”

Actually brings new meaning to, “Apple doesn’t pay taxes.”

Pretty much last year was their last deal, none this year :(

My disney plus gonna hog the last of my credits. :(

I’m hoping for some next year, but with how much the retail and ecosystem has both taken a hit and also digital sales flourished, who knows if they will.

A case of just waiting for me..

Apple killed off the Apple Store gift cards and the App Store & iTunes gift cards in Australia on 09 July and replaced it with the Apple gift card. App Store & iTunes gift cards have largely been disappearing from third-party retailers, although I spotted some at a JB Hi-Fi recently…

The Apple gift card terms and conditions state:

You can use your Gift Cards to purchase content, apps, and services (collectively, “Content”) from Apple Media Services and items (“Products”) from Apple Retail Stores, Apple online stores, and the Apple Store App.

The fact that you can use the Apple gift card to purchase items from the Apple Store (e.g. iPads, iPhones, Macs) means that Apple has little incentive to offer upfront discounts as large as the previous App Store & iTunes gift card discounts, so the deals these days are either:

      • Bonus Flybuys or Everyday Rewards points (which only happen from time to time), or
      • Small upfront discounts or cashback offers at some discounted gift card portals.

You’ll see that Woolworths is running a deal ending today where you’ll earn 20x Everyday Rewards points for every whole dollar you spend on Apple gift cards (excluding the $20 card). That is equivalent to 10% of the gift card value returned to you in the form of Everyday Rewards points.

Coles, Woolworths and BIG W have also in recent months run deals where you’ll earn 30x Flybuys or Everyday Rewards points for every whole dollar you spend on Apple gift cards (excluding the $20 card). That is equivalent to 15% of the gift card value returned to you in the form of Flybuys or Everyday Rewards points.

A number of discount gift card portals sell Apple gift cards with cashback or upfront discount ranging from 4% to 6% (before fees) everyday. Check the discount gift card page for more details.
