  • Price in title please

  • I wouldn't buy any new issued set with 300+ retiring lol .
I think that a bigger enough choice to find something .

    • What’s your eBay store?..

  • I'm keen, but should be around for another 12 months or so yet so I'll take the risk and hold out for a bigger discount.

Agree that it's a good looking set though, particularly with the stand.

    • Marvel ones tend to disappear quickly though and limited drops in the country.

      • I agree with that. Not to mention now that there's so many sets and move line-ups, general availability in stores seems to be 1 drop or 2 at max. So the window of opportunity for good discounting is really dependent on many factors. E.g. if you're hoping for a bigger discount it would have to be not flying off the shelves and they have an over supply of the item.

E.g. last year they released an extension to iron man hall of armour. Welp, that was truly one drop. Now I can't find it in any kmart or bigw.

I don't agree. Most sets can be had at decent discounts with few exceptions (anomalies such as 501st in AU vs US). If it's flying off shelves then retirement will be postponed to garner more sales for LEGO, so you should have ample time on brand new sets (and this is a brand new set).

        • Yeah those sorts of Marvel sets tend to be really rare here. I'm glad those aren't ones that I've ever collected.

My reasoning on this set is - this is a large colourful spaceship with 1900 pieces that's around the $200 mark, I reckon a lot of stock was ordered and stores expect it to be popular as a Christmas present. Good chance it'll get a pre-christmas sale discount. Kmart will be the one to watch as they seem to have it at $199 normal price.

I'll keep an eye on David Jones. If it sells out in the next day or two then it's clearly popular and I might jump on the next 20% instead but this set is only on my 'nice to have' list so missing out is no issue for me.

Curious to know what makes a UCS set?

    • +2

Its not a UCS set but it has the same size and details as most UCS sets. I think UCS is limited to Star Wars and some Batmobiles so far.

Mostly what makes it a UCS is the size, details, display stand and an information plaque (which this set doesn't have) but a lot of reviewer have come out saying this set is similar to other UCS builds:

I can see little kids with RM Williams at their feet playing with this

  • Includes Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket, Mantis, Thor and Chitauri warrior LEGO™ minifigures

So, no Drax or Gamora. You kill me Lego. Trying to squeeze the most cash out as possible.

    • Lego is a money making machine.

    • Drax is there…

  • this is just a larger variation of hedwig lol
