Need a Sample Pot of Paint Matched!

Anybody know if Bunnings will match paint during this time? I'm in VIC but not a trade, if not Bunnings any other stores?

The Paint Desk at my local Bunnings (regional Vic) was open to all when I visited there Monday so I'd imagine that they'll still be mixing paint and matching colours.

Your profile says you are in Sydney BTW.

  • Yes, they do. When we lived in a rental, I took a chip of paint from wall and they made me almost exact match based of that chip. Cost me $5 for tiny container.

    • Think OP is asking if you have done it in ViC during a lockdown. Like it is an essential activity etc. actually unclear if OP is asking that at all

  • If you're using it for touch up spots. I wouldn't recommend it.

Buy the amount you need to do the whole wall as it's a different batch of paint that was used previously. The specifications on each batch made vary so when it comes time to tinting. It may be slightly different.

  • "Following the latest Victorian Government announcement, our stores in regional Victoria are open for retail and trade customers from Tuesday 10 August.

Metro Melbourne stores remain open for trade customers only. During this time our Metro Melbourne retail customers can still purchase the items they need online, using Bunnings’ Click & Deliver or contactless Drive & Collect service, where products can be ordered online and collected from Bunnings’ car parks, without customers needing to get out of their car."

I would say no? but that is only from reading the information on their webpage

  • Not unless you are in regional vic.
    Everywhere is shut.

  • I bought 15 litres of paint from a paint shop recently and I asked them to mix it but when I got home I realised I told them the wrong colour, I took it back but they said they couldn't mix it again to match the colour I actually need :-(

    • Can't cancel the incorrect tint; as you need to mix from a standard base they can't make your colour from the current mix. Unlikely another customer wants your custom order.

      • Yeah, sucks.

        • Like the old saying, measure twice, cut once. Advertise the 15L on Gumtree. You might get some money back from someone painting a rental, or who are happy with that colour.
