Does Personal Valuables Insurance Covers Being Scammed?

Hello.

I got scammed for a lot of money doing a contactless delivery on Gumtree. (Buyer used a stolen credit card).

It was a laptop, and I have personal valuables insurance which covers against theft and accidental loss.

Does anyone know if this would count as theft, given I did give the scammer the item and wave goodbye?

Personal valuables insurance doesn't cover theft if you leave something in an unlocked car for example. But this seems strange to me, because at the same time you could theoretically just lie and say you lost it.

Thank you.

Well if he does and they say no, he can't call back and claim it got stolen, theoretically.

So I don't think it is one of the reason you can leave home so if you contact police you may not with the fine.

Don't scam the insurance as you may end up losing more than just the cost of the laptop when you trying to make up your story and something is not adding up.
