Don't buy this variant. Buy the comfort one and just be happy.

    • -3

Or buy this one and get it re-soled in store to rubber for free?

      • +8

As if they do that. It's $150 for a resole.

        • -2

I've gotten it done for all my boots - just come in, say the shoes were a gift but they're a bit tight/loose, and they'll resole them to get them sized properly. Then ask if they could chuck on some rubber ones while they're at it

      • +1

~$220 unless you have some reasonable complaint to justify re-soling.

        • +7

You'll be amazed what coming in with a smile, looking a bit confused and being really nice can get you mate. If you say it's your first pair and you were given them as a gift, they want to suck you into the cult

          • @frowny: bruuuuuuhhhhh….that's dope.

I've had the comfort craftsman one for like 10 years and I've always thought they're a wee bit too loose but the size is correct just not the width.

            • +2

@Orico: Yeah I mean if they're worn as shit you probably can't get away with it haha, but I've never had any problems doing it with brand new pairs, either for myself or for the old ball and chain

              • @frowny: By ball & chain are you referring to your husband? A little confused there.

                • +1

@graceyym: Partner indeed - was editing my comment @Orico but if you get your shoes resoled, just let them know about the tightness and they'd be able to put the shoe back together a bit looser for you

                  • +1

@frowny: Hahah I was being a loser, thanks! Awesome tip by the way, I guess that's something you would hope that they would do considering you're 'paying' $595.00 for a pair of boots.

          • @frowny: Yeah it's true that for some reason they prefer to resole rather than swap.

      • Wait, why would you want to resole proper Goodyear Welted boots?

I might as well blunt my ice skates so I don't cut myself?

        • Swap the leather soles for rubber soles then get them to stitch them up Goodyear Welted again

Goodyear Welting just talks about how the sole gets attached to the upper - it's a relatively higher cost way but leads to increased durability as compared to a Blake stitch. If you've got a nicely constructed boot, with a good leather upper, you'd want to be able to re-sole the boot, rather than chucking it all away

    • You'd still be better of wearing these and getting the leather replaced with a different sole. Or just wearing them out until you need to. The leather sole is fine, but slippery surfaces beware (you can use hairspray to give them more traction) and constant walking on concrete will cause them to grey out and roughen up.

  • Purchased! Lets see if they actually show up or if the order get's cancelled.

    • +2

My order just shipped so should be good so long as inventory was up to date

      • -1

Awesome news, hopefully mine ship soon! I purchased a Size 8, 9 & 10 just in case the 9 didn't fit right.. I think I went overboard.

        • -1

Can confirm, all 3 boots have been posted and intransit with Startrack. They were two seperate orders. Hopefully one of these fit well

    R.M. Williams Women’s Adelaide Boots $239.99

Do they still sell the Port Adelaide Boots ?

    • +1

No, because Port Adelaide don’t have a Taylor Walker

      • and they are much better off for it!

  • +1

    Tks OP,

    Purchased for wifey

    • +2

So you can use these as a router?

  • +1

I wish my partner have enthusiasm about rmw like me, all she likes is ysl and lv, overpriced cheap stuffs.

    • Try play the Australian-made card on her?

  • Anyone know if these are in UK sizing?

    • +1

      US

      • +1

Clearly those who negged are those that disagree with my comments or dislike me (I know who you are), as it says this on the OP's link:

N.B.: Womens R.M.Williams styles are in standard D width and US sizing. Take your US shoe size when purchasing.

        • +1

Have an upvote. Not sure why you negged for the truth.

  • Bought a pair with low expectations in that they won't be sent and if they do, they won't fit 😅 Joys of small feet

    • +1

Just bring them instore and say you got them as a gift and would like to swap sizes or even fit.

  • +2

Thanks OP, wife got some at the last warehouse sale and understands what I have been banging on about now. got her these for her b-day and bit cheaper than the warehouse prices too!

  • +2

Yay! Was quick enough this time to grab the lady a pair. Thanks Op :)

  • +3

  • +1

Got a pair of the size 10 regular fit ones for the missus, told her this is the first time it's a good thing she has big feet!

  • Are they out of stock as link not working and no RM Williams items in stock

  • +3

    still available for some sizes

  • +2

Got mine delivered earlier today; they fit! Thank you OP for posting! Pleasantly surprised they got sent out.

    • Wow that's incredible - mine hasn't even been shipped yet. What size did you get out of curiosity?

      • +1

Mine came from a Greater Sydney store, so not much to do there but pack orders since lockdown. Got size 6

        • Fairo, that's some wicked fast shipping though!

          • +1

@frowny: They used StarTrack which is why I got them so fast (but still came with my regular AusPost parcel delivery guy) :)

  • +1

    Reviewed today :thumbs up:

They were made in 2019. That may explain the price, as it's an old batch that you can't swap in store.

  • Just got the sorry we are out of stock email. Here's a full refund and a unique 20% off your next online order code to follow :(

    • Damn that's what I was scared of - haven't had my order ship yet. What size did you order?

      • +1

        womens euro 41.5/au10

        • Ah okay cheers - wonder if they just had no stock of that to begin with and only figured it out when they were trying to fulfil your order

          • @frowny: Some sizes were greyed out when I ordered. Obviously their stock management isn’t in real time :( The thought has crossed my mind that because I’m in western NSW that they didn’t want to deliver that far and it was easier (cheaper) to cancel.

  • Mine got cancelled - Size 6 to Vic

  • +2

Received today - size 10 (to Melbourne). Missus is delighted with them! Thanks OP.
