$85 for a case of pale ale is still a bit more than I would be willing to go - Newtowner whilst drinkable is a generic tasting ale and on the site it's $69 and cheaper from the major stores….. I usually drink coopers sparkling - their newer offering such as the hazy ipa wasn't great and was similar in price, albeit with a higher AVB….

  • why are craft beers so much more expensive??

      Crafty marketing

    • more time fermenting, they can churn out 3 cases of VD in the time it takes for 1 craft brew.

      more expensive ingredients.

      economies of scale.

      and yeah, higher margins probably.

      • Ales spend less time fermenting than lagers.

    • Get into home brewing. Much cheaper, often better tasting (if done properly), and each sip of your own brew will fill you with a sense of pride.

      • I'm far too lazy for that
