Newbie to Netflix: Does The Basic Level Still Provide an Adequate Picture?

My plan is to temporarily join Netflix to watch a few shows I am interested in, and then cancelling the subscription after the first month.

For shows like The Queens' Gambit and Schitt's Creek, will a basic SD subscription work? Or should I be looking at HD as a minimum? I will be the only one watching, so access to multiple devices at the same time is not needed.

    HD minimum. It's $5.

    Also Queen's Gambit is brilliant. You should enjoy it.

    Which country are you from? Turkey or Argentina? Probably still cheaper for HD if your are "from those countries"

    If your happy with the quality of the non HD channels on FTA, then the basic quality of Netflix will be similar.

    Depends on your TV size.
    Anything over 40" and probably going to require HD
