Hi all
I recently had a look on my electricity bill and found the daily service fee seems too high. We currently on total plan for home with Energy Australia with 9% of discount for electricity. Not sure if I can get a better deal out of them? I'm in Victoria under united energy distribution area.
We don't have any solar panels. Currently a household of 4 and are on a single rate plan.

Seems like a very low discount for VIC, which in the past had bigger discounts that I get in NSW.
I am on 'Total Plan Plus 12 (Home) in regional NSW and get Guaranteed discount - Other (Usage and Supply charges): 25% discount
Signed up to electricity and gas plans with higher rates than the competition but got a sweet $200 cashback from Cashrewards.
Cashrewards didn't honour the cashback, wiped it from my record then didn't want to know me when I contacted them.
Ended up paying the higher rates for nothing.

I am in postcode 3147 under United Energy and moved to Electricity in a Box
Rates are 16.95 c/kWh anytime usage and 58.38 c/day daily supply charge.
They also have a solar feed-in of 10.20 c/kWh
Would love this in NSW….

no solar
family of 5 (including kids)
Single rate plan
Recently did all the research and switched to Globird for both electricity and Gas.
Globird is cheapest one currently. Also got $50 signup bonus for using the referral while switching.

You can do your own research at energyvictoria site. but trust me globird will come out the best if you consider both electricity+gas with no solar and United area
For your ref,:
Electricity usage = 16.6452c (after 3% discount)
Electricity daily charge = 49.082c (after 3% discount)
It's easier to compare these days ie you don't always have to check rates. In Vic, the VDO is the government set baseline that all retailer discounts must start from. So if company a is 12% off vdo and company b is 13% off vdo, u don't need to check anymore, cos b is cheaper
Globird are best value for me, 3130. They have a good referral too. Been with them for 3 years.
