6800XT Now $1600

Wondering this car is currently retailing at $1600.00 + delivery?

Worth it? What was MSRP for this?

Comments

  • I think it is still rather expensive, read somewhere MSRP should be $1050…Though given the current market it is cheaper (based off PCCaseGear and Mwave but not by much).

Might be worth holding it out if you can! Prices are still slowly falling in my opinion.

    • Right I see.

What was the 6700XT retailing for at launch? I see a few from $900-1100?

Not sure if it's worth it or hold out

      • Not too sure for the 6700XT. I see articles at around $480 but not sure if USD or AUD.

In terms of holding out or not really depends on whether you need a new GPU.
For me I have a feeling that both the RTX 3000 and AMD 6xxx series would be one that won't consider giving the current pricing circumstances.

      • I recall it was intended to be around $750 reference and it launched at low $800 for basic AIB models with no stock availability then they hiked up the price.

6700XT is okish if you really want to buy, they are priced close enough to their launch, only about $200 difference unlike the higher end models where it's doubled the price.

Overall though, GPU's are not worth it so buy only if you need it.

  • I think MSRP might of been $1499 for the 6900.

    • Yep I think so too. I can get a 6900XT from marketplace for about $1800 so not sure if I should pounce or leave it

  • It launched at $1050 in Australia but sold out in less than a minute. Still way overpriced but considering the current climate it's not too bad. The Nvidia alternative is the 3080 which is well over $2k.

Also the link goes to a 6800 not a 6800 XT.

    • Wow :O $600 mark up. Even in the current market that is so insane. But I guess NVIDIA is even worse

  • 6800 for $1600? No way.

AMD cards have been slowly going up in price as nVidia introduced LHR cards. I almost bought a 6800 for $1400 a month ago, can't get that now. Crypto prices have been going up the past month so it's a terrible time to buy an AMD card.
