    Apologies if a dumb question - but I've literally never used Kogan - is there issues that come with ordering from them and the direct import you mention?

      Yes, dealing with Kogan itself if there are any issues with the device. I haven't bought from them either but i wrote a forum post asking this exact question few months ago and it was major NO from most people who responded.
      You still get the 1 year warranty but you will probably have issues getting refund/repaired if you tried.
      Direct import means its not Australian stock
