Homelite 173cc Petrol Pressure Washer Any Good?

Bunnings currently has Homelite 173cc 2600 psi petrol washer for around $227.

https://www.bunnings.com.au/homelite-173cc-2600psi-4-stroke-…

A quick search shows it is using Chinese built engine.

Comes with 2 years bunnings warranty.

Has anyone used this before? Is it a good deal? I have used electric pressure washer but it takes really long time to clean concrete driveway, patio etc.

Any feedback, suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

How many litres per minute? Generally this cheap crap will have really low flow. If it doesn't have higher flow that your electric one (it likely won't) it won't get anything done quicker.

  • It says 9.1l per minute

    • Actually pretty decent, very good for the price if it actually flows that much.

  • Yeah I think it might be good. Earlier before Ryobi bought Homelite, they used to have Honda motors on these things. So the reviews on YouTube is of the Honda motor unit.

It's worth a crack, Bunnings are great with returns, if it's rubbish just take it back.

The engine looks like the OHV chinese copy of the Honda engine. Used on a lot of lawnmowers.
Good engine that works well despite being cheap and built with cheaper parts compared to the Honda one.

  • Yeah have a Rover 123cc lawn mower from Masters. 6 years and it's still working. Pretty sure it's Chinese too.

  • Anybody who has purchased this unit?

You. Get. What. You. Pay. For.

It’ll probably work for a while.

  • Probably. Its actually on sale at the moment. Going back to $349 from tomorrow. Think I might give it a try and if its a POS - just return if to Bunnings.

  • Bought this 2 years ago, has had no issues and still works like new. I use it frequently, starts first time every time. can't complain especially for that price and the warrenty. It's also decently powerful, I wouldn't use it for industrial use but home use is adequate.
